Phil Spenser did make a good case for the continued existence of the Series S in this interview. He mentioned that the power of the series S will be around the same power of the handhelds that are currently in development by various hardware makers. If developers optimize their games for the Series S from now, they will have an easier time making those games available on the current and future handhelds.

That comment gave me strong nostalgia.

Phil Spensor already confirmed that they are working on a handheld due in a few years and they have already confirmed they are working on the next Xbox. This may sound cope but they are just looking for other ways to survive even if it goes out of what the traditional console should be.

Consoles are usually loss leaders and the bulk of their revenue comes from software. If they are selling less loss leading hardware and more software than ever, then they will still end in a...

They definitely have many areas of opportunities to recover from their current position. In the interview with Destin he said he plans for the Xbox console to be competitive by offering better hardware and services than their competitors. The current Xbox Series console does offer some features that are missing from Playstation but because their marketing is so crappy. They fail to let the gaming community know these features exist.

I can't tell you how many times I see...

It looks like Xbox isn't going anywhere. according to the article "Black Ops 6, attracted 38 million monthly users in November 2024" that would make it the biggest release last year. Those are insane numbers. No wonder Phil Spenser doubled down on their new strategy. They are also set to have a packed 2025 with AAA releases.

In his recent interview with IGN's Destin Legarie he flat out said he isn't opposed to putting any titles on other platform be it...

Blame the manufacturing process. They couldn't have made much better improvements because both the RTX 4090 and 5090 are 5nm chips. The next generation should provide a more significant improvement when manufacturers are able to shrink the transistors further.

The 50 series isn't a big letdown and shouldn't be downplayed too much. People moving from 30 series or lower will see a significant improvement in all aspects.

It would be better for us gamers if they did. Imagine if you can play your games anywhere and take your saves with you.

It may be a while before Sony comes around because they are going out of their way to block their games from being sold in over 150 countries on steam. It will be the share holders that will push them to consider this route if the financials decline.

Not sure why so many people funded this project. It's like they forgot we had Kinect a decade ago. At least then, multiple 3rd party publishers and Microsoft were making games for it. This device will not have that type of financial investment from 3rd parties.

I agree that while it is great that new characters were added which each version having a different move set, I found that sparking Zero is unfortunately following the same trend as older games in the series where there are no new stages. We are getting the same stages over and over again. Let us see if the Daima expansion adds stages from the demon world or if we are stuck using the same stages from the base game.

Those numbers are insane. A Ryzen 7 5800x is too much for this type of game. Even the Rx 6800 is also a bit much. That GPU rivals the compute power of the PS5 Pro. Not many gamers on PC will be able to meet the recommended requirements. Steam deck and other handheld gamers are of luck.

Hopefully the official numbers will be more reasonable.

I expect it to be around the specs of the recently released God of War Ragnarok. See below

This is amazing. This is the direction VR should go in to boost adoption. Since I have beaten every Crysis except 1, this is now a good excuse to correct that problem.

The drop in Xbox sales reflects the reality that exclusive titles are important in the console market.

When Microsoft decided to end exclusivity for their games, they should have also made it so you can boot a modified Windows version on the Xbox. Atleast that way, many would still have a reason to own an Xbox. Now they will be forced to become a 3rd party publisher as interest in the console and platform continues to wane.

That was a great presentation. Xbox is poised to have a strong game pass lineup for 2025.

This is a step back for PlayStation and PC gamers. These anti consumer policies need to end.

While I don't like open-world racers much except for a few exceptions, I would be interested of they can make the open world experience enjoyable.

Time will tell if they are ambitious enough.

I remember when I tried to play Crysis with my Intel Pentium Dual core E2200 @2.2GHz , 4GB ram and GeForce 9400gt. I was a kid back then and that was the best I could do. I would get about 15 to 20 fps. When I over clocked the CPU to 2.8GHz I would get about 40fps. The experience wasn't good at all and it was the only PC game I could not run back then unless and put the settings on low. At that point the game went from cutting edge graphics to PS2 graphics. To this day I haven't compl...

That would be the responsible thing to do. There is nothing better than slotting in a new GPU and seeing that huge jump in performance compared to the card you just took out.

Let the wealthy who don't know what to do with their money buy GPUs every generation. In my opinion, I GPU should be upgraded every 2 - 3 generations.

I agree 100%. According to Nvidia, 80% of gamers use DLSS when the option is available. I personally don't buy it for a second that after 3 generations of AI upscaling and frame gen, all of a sudden frame gen is bad.

I think when Jesen said the RTX 5070 at $549 can deliver RTX 4090 performance with AI, all those guys with $1000 plus GPUs felt attacked and were quick to stress that it is only with the use of frame generation, aka "fake frames."

I loved Resident Evil 4 back in the day and enjoyed Resident Evil 5 even though I had to do co-op to beat the final boss. Shiva was just too dumb.

Resident Evil 6 on the other hand, was so bad that I stopped playing after an hour in the game. That was before I even played any high-quality single-player games outside of Mass Effect, Portal, and Skyrim. I can't imagine playing RE6 now.

Chances are their next remake will be 5.

This would be very dumb and may kill AAA games and publishing in this economy if publishers start to think they can get away with $100.

It's one thing when we are all doing great, and a mortgage, car loan, student loan, childcare, and foodcoststaree reasonable for most,t, but these ideas should not be entertained in today's economy. If people have to choose between eating or buying that next AAA game at launch then it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know what...
