There is no way a console would need, nor utilize that many cores. 6 cores at most. I'm betting quad core.
What developer would want to program for that many cores?
It's actually not that bad of a card for the price.

Always on internet? That would be a very poor decision. I know a lot of gamers who don't have their xbox's online.
I use my HDMI via my AMD card all the time. It sounds great and it allows me to have 7.1 without a sound card. Excellent. :)
