I just bought this game in my local GameStop on my lunch break, the employee told me "Its really good..about time Sony released a good game" I looked at him baffled and asked him "compared to who?" Of course he walked right into my trap.."the 360" sez he?!! Let's just say I left him looking rather the uninformed fool in front of the other customers, he didn't pick a good year to make that remark.
Yeah I think the AK kind of does away with that theory. By the way I'm Irish.
Well I personally don't have a problem but I can see why some other folks in here might take offense. I just don't understand why you'd bring a reference to a paramilitary "Terrorist"/"Fr eedom fighter" organization into a gaming website. But sure if nobody else is complaining I guess I'll just STFU.
Very tasteful user name...
Great review but...
"inFAMOUS is many things; a superhero epic, a decent into indulging one's dark side, a comic book fable and an electrically-charged shooter. Above all else, though, it's a next-gen platformer -- something the PS3 was lacking until now."
Eh..what about a little old game from Insomniac?
I hope that the absolute chaos and variety that the gameplay brings to the table will overshadow any technical shortcomings this game may have. Come review time it will be interesting to see if this game gets a get out of jail card on such issues..unlike another sandbox game released recently.
I have that collection too Cajun, it was my one of my favorite 2000AD features, second only to Bad Company. I've always dreamed of Pixar doing an 80's themed movie adaption of it, its style lends itself perfectly to animation. But I fear Mr.Moore wouldn't be too happy...again.
The Strontium Dog one is the best..would love me some D.R & Quinch costumes though.
Your last 30 odd comments are anti-Sony related and then you call people out as fan-boys? Goodbye bubbles.
Meh.
I take it you just started gaming this generation?
Thanks for the info nofi..fascinating stuff. Is it better than Crackdown? Would you give it a 7/10??
Just kidding.
To be honest ElementX I haven't noticed much issues with jaggies in PS3 games before I played inFamous. What games are you referring to? I noticed you have raised this question several times now..I guess nobody gave you an answer.
In fairness, Tom's article was very petty and hardly could be deemed as constructive criticism. If I put three years of blood sweat and tears into a game and then read that article, I certainly wouldn't want to meet the spiteful hack who went to such lengths to lambaste my product..well not without a sound alibi anyway. ;-)
Lucky you..we have to wait until Friday in Ireland. Bank holiday long weekend here though..I'm praying it rains all the way through!
Read my comment history, look at the list of games I play and even my paltry submission history before you make a further fool of yourself. Weak trolling.
I think the games technical flaws have ruined the experience for some critics, however the vast majority are more than willing to overlook these shortcomings due to its many strengths. I have had rose tinted blinkers on for this game since its first E3 preview, I would have bought it even if it got 7's across the board, I'm delighted that wasn't the case though.
The video is a little too dark and low res for me to make a call on the animations, the characters are fairly generic but one thing this game certainly has is style, the Art Nouveau architecture is beautiful.
