Siren would be the pick of the bunch there for me. I've never been a big fan of true survival horror and Resident Evil 4 was the first game in that series I enjoyed, simply because it was more of an action title. I had a feeling that Siren might be a turnaround point for me and it really has delivered, the mixed pacing for each episode keeps it really interesting and the art/sound direction are beautiful. Truly scary game.
Yawwwwn...have a look at said "BIASED PLAYSTATION MAGAZINE"s track record before you condemn them. They are not easily impressed.
@Final RPG
Yes Siren,Resistance and Folklore are great games. That is why I included them in that list to show that OPM UK are not soft touches or biased towards their Sony "masters" :-)
If a publication that is hard to please gives a game 10/10 I generally pay attention. I think IGN's PS3 team have been a little too positive of late but generally I am in agreement with them.
Reviews are a guideline at the end of the day, we all make our own decisions but t...
OPM UK..some of you may like to think they would be a tad biased, but here is a couple of previous scores they awarded to PS3 exclusives
Haze - 60
Lair - 60
Folklore - 70
Siren - 70
and wait for it...
Resistance Fall of Man - 70!!
So I think objectivity is certainly not beyond the publication.
Who gives a sh*te..may all the consoles sell shed loads. Gaming is great..end of.
Thank god you said "addictive"..if I have to read "addicting" one more time I'm going to have a brain haemorrhage.
I surmise from your username and comments you are just someone having a laugh playing the role of a blinkered fanboy..because most of that video is actual gameplay.
I was feeling the Castlevania vibe from the very beginning of the trailer but the whip aspect just sealed the deal. Very intrigued.
I hope Iga has nothing to do with this as his foray into 3D gaming has been very underwhelming, I still dream of him creating a 2.5D next gen masterpiece but I guess that will never be economically viable.
Edit: Just read that this is being developed by a European team, based in Madrid.
Who approved such an article?! Its clearly the ramblings of a child. The pro Sony thing here is getting a little out of hand and thats coming from a PS3 owner who does quietly relish in positive Sony news..but this is not news.
I nearly pissed myself laughing when the camera panned out and I saw a white boy sitting there. Wigtastic.
Thanks, I understand all of that but I have 90GBs of music on my PS3..that is almost three minutes of painful scrolling to get to the track I want, all the while watching music icons loading. If it was possible to divide into A-Z folders by artist it would be far more intuitive.
I say it every time there is firmware wish list..all I want is a proper music browser with at least A-Z artist folders, not pointless A-Z folders by song title. Perhaps I'm one of the few who uses the PS3's media capabilities to the full as I never hear anyone else raise this issue..except disgruntled guests at my house parties.
It would be great to see this game get more love from the mainstream. I had pretty much forgotten my Ps2 after the pinnacle that was Shadow of the Colossus and then this came along..firmly entrenched in my all-time top 10. Simply beautiful.
R.I.P Clover.
I try to stop myself from checking the store for updates anymore than once a month..Sony's moto has become "Patience" after all....I'm never disappointed.
The description in bullet points is a little worrying..great graphics, great sound, great effects..but very little celebrating gameplay innovation. I really hope this game delivers.
I bought a PS3 myself, but I have a job..the average parent does not think in those terms when it comes to making purchases for their kids. Sony have made a poor effort at marketing the value of their machine to the average consumer. We have a large retailer in the U.K and Ireland called Argos, I was flicking through their catalogue the other day and noticed the difference in the Xbox advertising and the PS3's. The 360 had a list of its functions spread across the page in colourful stylised b...
I think its going to be a huge blow to Sony in Europe, 260 euro's for a 60GB 360 is great value whatever way you slice it. We are still paying an average of 400 euros for a PS3 here in Ireland..its a big price gap.
"SWEDENISH"??!! Where the hell is that? Somewhere between Sweden and Finland?
It seems Insomniac are the only group in the Sony camp that understand deadlines. Ah well..I think only me missuz will reap any enjoyment out of Home.
Go ahead and download it, if you like horror I doubt you will be disappointed. As for the reviewers "one to many trips to the game over screen"..he obviously just cant hack the challenge. I think the slightly clunky controls add to the experience of terror, but they are rarely frustrating.
