I agree. Devs should at least be given some time to make proper effort for utilizing the full potential of quad-cores before jumping the gun on 6 & 8 cores. I'm all for advancements in technology, but this wastes so many possibilities with the current tech.

Well, it's not my fault. There were a couple of articles(probably by some fanboys) back in September/October last year about how this game has much more realistic graphics than Crysis, and how the textures are much more detailed and much higher poly-count. I don't have time to go back and search for those.
All I'm saying is that they're getting people hyped for all the wrong reasons. They should've given more hype on the gameplay/storytelling instead.

A refreshing new kind of gameplay. I have no doubt it will be fun and exciting. But I don't see any "Crysis-killer" graphics they hyped it up for. All glossy and over-bloom with no real in-depth textures, almost like MW2.
Don't get me wrong, it's not bad at all. But it's just not "Crysis-killer" as many seem to claim. I'm more hyped for it's fresh new style of gameplay.

FYI, PC games also have the "subtle art of auto-target", they're called "aim-bots" and are used only by no-talent n00bs.
PC online community is still much bigger than you think, do some proper research.

Why the hell should BC2 "play the same as COD:MW2"? And why should you play BC2 just to "rebel against Infinity Ward"? They are different games.
I am a huge fan of COD4 but I'm sure BC2 is gonna be a LOT better than MW2. It's not just for BF series fans, it's for everyone. Yes, that includes "hardcore COD players".

lol...I meant that I don't want to find out what features are gonna be available, what kinds of achievements or unlockable equipments are gonna be offered, how the PC controls are handled and how effective the guns are. They might not show much on the beta, but I don't want to take any chances.
In short, I want to be oblivious about the gameplay before I buy the game since I'm 100% sure it's gonna be awesome. Being pleasantly surprised makes it all the more sweeter. hehe.
As fun as the beta sounds, I'll wait for the finished game. I want to be blown away by the final version without any spoilers. lol
Good to hear positive news about the game. I was kinda hoping for 64-player maps, but I'll forgive DICE if they make up for it by making Battlefield 3 a PC exclusive. Probably won't happen though.....
If PC gaming dies, then you can be certain that any graphical developments for games(on consoles) will cease immediately. So you'd better pray it doesn't die any time soon.
And FYI, PC is still the most popular gaming platform in the world. Google it, I don't have time to argue.
If those are PC shots on max settings, then it's pretty disappointing. With the DX11 implementation and all, I was hoping for a much more detailed graphical achievement.
The jungle setting was much better, and I'm pretty sure you won't be able to enter every building, even for PC hardware that is an impossibility for this gen. Anyway, the more I hear about this sequel, the less I like it.
And I agree with Chubear. The city setting is a way around the console hardware limitation. It's all a cash-grab move. I just hope the PC version doesn't get watered down as well.
WOW! Something I never thought I'd hear from Epic. Not been much of a fan of Gears(didn't like it from the first game itself), but it has been a commercially successful franchise. Whether we love or hate Microsoft, it has helped Epic make their Gears franchise as successful as it is today. Patcher needs to get his fast-mouth fixed before MS starts to really get ticked-off.
Hey, I loved the 3rd game(PC version, of course). It's among my all-time favorites.
I'll be thoroughly disappointed if they tried to give the game a "hack n' slash" touch rather than the stealth tactical execution. I loved sneaking around and the chill that runs down your spine in the creepy atmosphere('The Cradle' mission).
If they're putting it out there for the world to see, they're surely gonna get noticed.
