I thought the objective of action-shooters(fps in particular) was about shooting(duh). So you're saying you have more fun searching the whole map for one measly health pack rather than just....y'know, get into the action?
Maybe the devs should make a game solely based on searching for health packs and call it Medical Treasure Hunt. It would be a hit considering how many people are obsessed with health-packs.
So, medkits heal instantly and are realiatic, whereas regen takes 5 or more seconds and is unrealistic? Using your theory, maybe regens are meant to convey that the player hides and heals himself using whatever to regain strength. So that means it's a lot more realistic than running over "magically appearing" medkits in the middle of a firefight. At least with regen, you have to get clear and wait a bit to recover.
Agree with ElementX.
All games have unrealistic health. If you want realistic health, stop playing video games and join the army, for crying out loud.
And this is considered "news" because.....??????
Exactly. Generalization is an annoying cancer on equality.
I don't need articles like these telling me that Mac OS is superior to Windows OS, because they're always everywhere on the net at any given point in time. Everytime a new Windows gets released, there will be at least one Apple fanboy bringing up old topics like this, telling people to switch to Mac. We get it, your precious OS X is "awesome", now go back to your little world and ask yourself why Windows PCs are still the dominant force in the market.
For a Wii game, it's not as bad as i expected. But I had hoped for a little more in terms of pit-crew animations and interactions. I pray F1 2010 to be a huge leap up from this.
I was scared half to death when i read the "...no TES 5..." rumors. This news brings a breath of life to us hardcore fans of the series. Don't ever let a precious gem like TES die out so easily. Maybe we can expect it by the end of 2011 or 2012? *fingers crossed*
Poor choice of words from Destructoid. I thought a respected site like that would have much more 'class', rather than acting like crybabies and lashing out at everyone.
An approved article about some random guy's prediction of the future. What's next? A special column about Nostradamus' choice of TPs?
The list is freakishly hilarious, especially Cloud and Barrett...wahahahaha
Well, let's hope this game hits it big. Critically successful superhero-based games don't come out everyday. So, it's going to provide a much needed break from all the FPS games I've been playing. :)
People won't bother with it if it's cheap. The thing with some gamers is that, they believe if a game costs more they'll get more content out of it. How the hell is raising a price from $60 to $100 supposed to enhance the game in any way? Maybe for some rich n' spoiled kids, paying more for the same game gives them some sort of twisted satisfaction...
I'm guessing it will be good and enjoyable. But I'm not gonna expect any HUGE improvement from the first game. I'm not gonna buy it new, but that doesn't mean I won't get it later, used of course.
I loved the first game, and I'm sure I'll feel the same way about this one too. It's just that I don't think it'll be the '2nd coming of christ' that many people make it out to be.
Never thought I'd see the day we finally get Sam Fisher vs Solid Snake, but here it is. I'm not gonna choose sides, but since I haven't played Splinter Cell Conviction yet, I think it'll have to be damn good to beat MGS4. But I'm not gonna base my opinion on one guy's review alone, I'll compare them myself.
Marty, you just hit the nail on the head. Why do devs still support(or should i say 'prefer') 360, Wii & PC even after all those times where piracy has been blamed for losses? Because the simple truth is, it's still damn profitable. The devs(and publishers) are businessmen and cunning ones at that. Why else would they invest on something unless they know they can benefit from it?
See, they make a game for one or all of the aforementioned platforms and if it tanks, they blame ...
Er...what happened? I thought he was gonna list the various cons of PC gaming, but instead he ended up with a "Long live PC gaming" quote. I'm mainly a PC gamer, but even i admit there are many flaws with the platform, apart from the ones he listed. Although, i still love and cherish PC gaming.
Writer of G.I.Joe movie? No thanks. I refuse to put up with more torture from hollywood and it's crap. Splinter Cell is not a full-blown action like GI Joe or Transformers were, and that's why it has to have a great story+script writer. And a writer for the GI Fail movie is not the right choice for this kind of work. Maybe someone who has similar talent as The Bourne trilogy writer....
You're probably right. It's kinda like how i feel about emo-bands these days. Just because they pretend to play instruments in their music videos, they think they qualify for the 'rock' category. BAH!
The graphics are really great, but in no way is it ever gonna top Crysis realism. Maybe somewhere down the line a PS3 game might come out which comes very close to it, but I'm sure it's not this game. By the way, HHG have just lost all my respect and their credibility.
