...since when is piracy NOT a problem? Every time a game sells less than expected, it's piracy. Every time a dev-company goes bankrupt, it's piracy. Heck, even bad reviews are attributed to piracy. I'm so sick of publishers crying "piracy" all the time, and still continuing to make games for the platform.
If they're really losing so much money on PC and 360, then they should just make PS3 exclusives. Otherwise, they should just SHUT UP and do their job.
I don't think I've played any multiplayer-shooter game which I find more enjoyable than COD4(not even Counter-Strike). That said, I do prefer realism in my singleplayer campaigns. I hate being able to go "Rambull" in every SP game. I loved Rainbow Six 3 & GRAW for their tactical elements.
However, as I've said before, most gamers don't have the time or patience to do a proper "tactical" multiplayer without it becoming boring to them. I personally prefer mu...
Modern Warfare was a hit because the firefights were intense and exciting although quite unrealistic at times. If a game tries to take the realism level too high, it ends up being slow and boring for most gamers. And yes, sniper-fest sounds bad.
...to see the lengths people would go to get some attention.
Warcraft 1, 2 & 3 were awesome, not just World of Warcraft. And Age of Empires 2 is a must-include for any RTS fan. Plus, how about the Doom series as well?
Different gamers like different games, but there are some classics you just can't ignore.
It's all Activision's fault. With the success of COD1 and COD2, they wanted to milk the COD series on a yearly basis. IW flatly refused to make a game within 12 months only. So Activision brought in the innocent & clueless Treyarch to fulfill their greedy ambitions.
That said, the COD franchise will always belong to IW, period. Treyarch are not bad themselves, I just hope they are given the freedom to come up with their own original IP in the coming years.
Thank you, dear hardcore-SNES fan. Your list was quite alien to me except for the Half-Life 2 and Warcraft 3 moments. I would've thought MGS4 would gain entry to most people's list.
And I also agree with the Mass Effect suggestion, especially the part where **SPOILER ALERT** you had to choose between Ashley and Keidan on Virmire, along with the final battle.
P.S. - I'd add PoP:T2T to the list. **More SPOILERS** The part where the Prince watches Kaileena die was an un...
...a baseball bat. And still no free DLC for L4D1? Just keeps getting better and better, doesn't it?
....the ending slo-mo sequence of COD4 gave me a sad feeling, watching helplessly as our teammates got shot in the head one-by-one.
And the Prince of Persia trilogy, when at the end of Two Thrones they showed the opening scene of Sands of Time. That left me in a very emotional state, seeing how far we've come from SoT to T2T, then going back there like a time-loop. That was a nice and rare touch from the devs.
....that was a poorly written article. I've said this before, and I will say it again "How the hell did these type of articles get approved as news?". Fan-boy rants are NOT news, we have the comment sections and forums for that purpose.
Yes, I too, prefer PCs for gaming but c'mon, was all that really necessary? Each gamer has his/her own preferred platform(trying to shove your opinion down the other person's throat is not the best way to convince him/her), and arguing a...
...i do hate them when they instantly call you "homophobe" everytime you don't agree with everything they say. To those kind of gays, I can honestly say, "F**k you, f*gg*t" and totally feel proud of myself.
Shouldn't you be on the Open Zone?
Anyway, it's gonna be hard comparing two different games that are exclusives to two different platforms without sounding a bit fanboy-ish. I admit, I'm really impressed with Heavy Rain graphics, especially the facial textures and shading.
But overall, including environment and everything else, Crysis still heads the visual-realism chart. You don't have to agree, but it's the truth. This is NOT about PC vs PS3. No, this about compari...
I've seen them a couple of times before in 09. But I guess it was just a beta work incorporated in the game by EA. Very very rare indeed. Maybe they had plans to introduce it in 2010 back then.
EDIT - What level is that guy playing on? Amateur? Anyway, I don''t see any handballs, at least not with that horrible quality footage(somebody needs to fire the cam-geek).
....background music completely ruins it.
If I had read all that, would it help me make coffee? Nope.
I think this has been posted before....
I'm not a fan of GoW, so I'm apparently not that interested in it's clone either.
No big name MMOs are actually 'free'. Believe me, I've tried a lot. You either pay for levelling-up and precious items or you're gonna be stuck in grinding hell with your default items. Nobody does any amount of work for free. How do you think they keep up with developer salaries and server maintenance?
Advice - Happily pay monthly for WoW and be satisfied. :)
It's because of gamers like these that people think we are all messed-up. I wonder if this news will bring out another 'ban video games' movement from those people that have nothing better to do.
I tend to get a bit touchy when devs hide behind the "blame-it-on-piracy" mask. And of course, I don't mean in relation to this article.
The biggest culprit is EA, always crying "foul play" with every damn release since 1998. Their FIFA PC versions are total s**t, no wonder people pirate them. And Crysis(published by EA) didn't sell as much as COD4 because it had absolutely nothing else other than extreme-graphics. Did you read anything notable about Crysis o...
