I don't see why this is such a big deal. People should be more worried about the following...
1) Will the US get shafted in packaging, a la Lost Odyssey? That was some total bullcrap, a freaking paper sleeve, when other countries had nice packaging.
2) Will this game be good? Star Ocean has never been a HUGE name, despite being a well known RPG series. It seems the hype is mounting because of SE's support of MS this generation. SE's track record thus far this gen has...

Square Enix proves their stupidity with this release. Both KH and KH2 sold more in the US than it did in Japan. Yet Japan gets both Final Mixes. What's more, we don't even get the FULL Final Mix + for KH2, we are stuck with only HALF of it, priced full?

Indeed. I find it funny that the Dreamcast was mostly overlooked during its time, but once that generation is over and done with, even the most staunch fanboy says "yeah it was a pretty cool system that died too soon."

It's not about being out to get anything. It's about a lack of consistency and obvious bias, regardless of where its aimed. No, MS doesn't pay for everything. But do you know how many incentives companies, from MS to Capcom, throw at journalists to get good write ups? Have you heard about the $800 swag bag given to reviewers right before Halo 3 hit? Or the trips to France from Konami? You realize that many "pro sites" have to give games a certain score or write up in order for them ...
Halo... people "get bent out of shape" for a few valid reasons. Many of us love this hobby, and it goes beyond the simple fanboyism of "my system versus your system." People put plenty of hard work and hours into these games, and you have these uneducated, chip on their shoulder excuses for "journalists" who do nothing bit piss and moan, and then assign an arbitrary numerical score based on their whims.

Constructive criticism is one thing, yet Killzone 2 is being nitpicked for issues that MANY other high scoring shooters had as well. I'm looking directly at YOU CoD4 and Halo 3. I can't wait to see the inconsistency in final reviews, as the BS will be staggering.

I think Sony should spend less on R&D, and just beef up the specs they have. Improve the BD drive speed, the bandwidth and bus speeds, and the amount of ram.
Put things like the OS and upscaling onto its own separate cache so it doesn't take away from developers. Focus on ONE SKU so consumers aren't confused, but keep the open ended nature (HDD swapping, Bluetooth headsets, etc).

Meh, a real gamer won't care what a game sells. Okami, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Beyond Good & Evil and Psychonauts all "flopped" yet are easily some of THE greatest games of all time.
