So much whining about DMC. It is getting decent reviews and now the world is over. The whining around here is awful.
They changed the way he looks a little, big deal, its a reboot, the guys that made DMC 1 & 3 are gone (many to Platinum Games). You can't go back fans.
They gave Dante white hair as an end game bonus to please fans and there is whining.
You know DMC4 was terrible, it was half a game with bad bosses, yet you want...
I really don't think at this late stage that LAst Guardian is launching on PS3. I think it will be a big PS4 title to get early adopters on board with the new system. Please don't hang me it's just the feeling I am getting.
This seems about right, after playing the demo and viewing many gameplay, story, and interview videos, this new DMC game seems to be around a 7.5 quality. I think the average once reviews get released will be in this area. I envision it being considered a good game. Not Great or Exceptional, but good. So a 7.5 seems fair.
I am an xbl 10 year member and all I got was that stupid avatar helmet, lol. In all serious though, if Sony can get cross game chat into the PS4 and keep online gaming free then MS will lose many subscribers.
Yes Xbox needs more exclusives and I think MS is working on it. They opened up 343 for Halo. They put together that new team in Canada for a AAA next gen franchise. They purchased Twisted Pixel a little over a year ago. They still have Rare, Lionhead, Turn 10, e...
My GOTY list in no particular order is:
Mark of the Ninja - made sthealth fun again
Journey - brilliant experience I never expected
Halo 4 - best single player experience of series
Far Cry 3 - Skyrim with guns
Dishonored - brave new ip late in generation proving all big wig executives wrong.
That about covers it for me happy new year and happy gaming.
Regardless of how poor the game turned out even with a 500 person development team, it proves that many gamers perfer to play their horror games alone.
I would say most gamers will play Dead Space 3 offline by themselves, before seeing what the online coop does to the game.
Developers and editors need to remember that yes we live in the online digital edge, but many gamers still like to play offline or alone. It's not all about online or multiplayer ...
I have felt this way as this gen has lingered on longer than any that developers hardware limitations were the excuse for lack of invitation or vision. Then I started to think about the problem in greater depth.
The industry has become so mass market and mainstream that developers are not usually given the time to truely develope new ideas and when they are given 3 or 4 years development time it is usually on such a big budget title that they are afraid to take risks becau...
It really comes down to the GPU and bandwidth to utilize the RAM, if it's not there then the GPU stalls and no amount of RAM helps. I think it will be 4 to 8G in RAM.
I have no doubts the Next Box is coming for a holiday launch, but why is anyone surprised about the lack of confirmed exclusives? MS has done this every year for years. One or two games are known at the beginning of the year, then the rest is revealed around E3. This is par for the course for them. There may not be many since the new Xbox will be arriving, but there should be a couple.
Who cares anyways, I have such a backlog of games to play as it is that I could wait ...
Although, I enjoy HL and L4D, I am not going to pay for another console to play their games, not interested no thanks.
I understand, but I don't see that being a viable business model for true AAA blockbuster games that cost $50 mill to make like Gears, GOW, Halo, etc. and if that becomes the way of thinking next gen then we can expect much much fewer true blockbuster games of these types.
I can't see Crytek investing $25 to 50 mill in Crysis 4 and hope to not only recoup but make a profit off of $5 or $10 purchases here and there.
"Once our current contracts are complete we are going strictly to free to play"
That tells me the state of video games for the future are in bad shape.
and I am now supposed to be excited that Valve can create and keep a console maintained.
Also would this mean valve would not launch teir games on Sony's, MS, or Ninty's consoles....vavle would lose much sales with that move.
I think the whole idea is stupid really. Their are already enough players in the console market, especially since the industry is in retraction mode.
I an a big fan of this franchise. I have played them all. NG3 sucked bad, no amount of polish can pretty up this turd as the core combat was broken, unless they revamp the combat. I am not sure that is what this release is focused on.
Abash a 1/5 score would drop three 90 scores to 80, just like that. I have played Halo 4 and felt it was the best single player campaighn since the original, it was excellent, even GOTY quality IMHO. Regardless, the very low scores are unwarranted even if you hate the franchise, because it is loaded with content, the pinnacle in graphics on the 360, and extremely polished.
A 0/5 would be an unplayable game to me and a 1/5 should be reserved for a game that is basicly brok...
Been waiting for Dishonored got it for $25 and Max Payne 3 for $20 with free shipping on amazon. Love this time of year.
The only numbers we can go by is VGChartz. How accurate is up for debate but I believe Dishonored has done around 800,000 on Xbox and 700,000 on PS3. PC numbers are low but don't include downloads and Steam. I like a reasonible estimate would be close to 2 million so far and I think that is good for a new IP with the holidays to go and increased sales from that and price drops. I think Dishonored is doing good. I do not know where the person that made this article came up with half a...
Based off the rumors of the PS4 and the Next Box we have seen floating around that many of us can just stick with our 360's and PS3's for a good year or two after launch. That way we give time to work out manufacturing bugs on launch consoles, accumlate a good amount of games, and determine if we will support any restrictions they impose on us (lack of backwards compatibility or locking out used games).
Really if there is no immediate graphical leap then why spend ...
Microsoft also published the first Mass Effect and Ninja Gaiden 2, if I am not mistaken, and now Mass Effect will be on PS3 in the Trilogy pack and NG2 was published as Sigma 2 on PS3. So, publishing contracts can be for not.
That is awesome box art
