I am so getting this game day one. I was a child of the 80's, it was the best time IMHO. The world has now become to tense and politically correct, I much prefer the Cold War over worrying about a terrorist bomb in my soup. When I look at this game, I get a feeling of a better time and place.
I don't care about this franchise without Ironsides voice. He is Sam Fischer. Boycott this game, I would rather they end any series then throw new voices which are not identified to the main character. Same with Masterchief, Kratos, etc. end series and start a new game in the same universe.
The real tragedy here is Techland worked on this for 1 1/2 years and never addressed any of the first games shortcomings, they just add some things that could have been dlc or an expansion.
Capcom has done it right with Dragons Dogma. They fixed many of the originals problems then added a whole new area with all new enemies, weapons, etc. and it only took them a year.
WTH Techland, this reeks of cash grab. No buy for me and I got the first one.
Good I hope it is a failure and I am a big Gears fan from day one. Let this be a lesson to developers and publishers to stop abusing its customers:
First, if your going to make changes, fine, just don't be making huge game altering changes to a beloved franchise, its going to alienate a majority of your fanbase.
Second, don't be selling Season Passes for maps when a game is launched with such little content. Four maps for $60 retail then purchas...
I am a Gears fan but skipped this game. I could not justify paying $60 for a stripped out game with only four maps then pay $20 for the dlc they were peddling to get six more maps, which should have been free.
In my opinion this game is a fiasco, little content for $60, then $20 for maps that should be free, then all the purchasable microtransactions.
It just stinks of corporate greed like no other game.
If selling a little over 2 million combined on 360 and PS3 was disappointing to them, then I am afraid they will be really disappointed with Bayonetta 2's sales on the Wii U, because I don't see it selling over 2 mill.
majibeast why did you mention Naughty Dog? Hope you do know that they are not a first party studio for Sony and ND stated that after the Last of US, they are going multiplatform.
I don't think this is a sign of the studio being in any financial trouble. I have read about this many times thru the years. Usually when a game is finished there are lay offs, before a studio is re-staffed for the next project. Redundent positions and talent that may not fit the next project are let go, then they re-hire for specific jobs on the next title.
Those numbers are so unrealistic. I mean good grief 5-6 mill is the average lifetime sales for a Gears of War or Uncharted game from their trilogies. Those games built up a fanbase and had a following. Tomb Raider was in decline and needed a reboot, it had great production value but you can't expect those types of numbers.
Since when has Hitman ever come close to those types of numbers.
Sleeping Dogs did well, Heck it was dropped by a major publishe...

Since when has Hitman ever come close to those numbers. Sounds like Wada may have wanted to retire and receive a severance package cause all projection numbers from recent releases seem way out in left field.

What? This isn't free DLC, it's a patch to fix gameplay, hahahahaha.
I said the same thing about the new Splinter Cell game. I will not buy and support a game when the voice actor that created the character, we identify with is no longer used. It would be different if they retire, die or come out and tell the public they won't do it anymore, but M. Ironside and Hayter are alive and well.
I would do the same if the voice actors for Halo (Masterchief) and GOW (Kratos) were not used.
I was telling one of my friends a few weeks back that Bioshock Infinite might not only be GOTY but GOTG material based on what I have read and seen and the talented developers behind it. Glad to see I wasn't the only one thinking this.
If Sony and Microsoft can't put a system out at reasonable price that will allow 1080p and 60fs on the majority of games for the next gen then what's the point? PC's can run 64 player 1080p 60fs, if these new consoles can't they should wait and launch new systems when that is feasible.
No they won't go oh well when a game loses 10's of millions of dollars. They will shelve it indefinately.
Capcom would be better served in investing in new franchises.
This is what is awesome about Sony. I have received around $50 so far, but I was an early adopter and upgraded my PS3 a couple times, but the network is free (unlike M$) and they give PSN dollars for just being a PS3 owner.
I think Ascension is more towards the middle of the pack. This is how I would rate them.
1. GOW 2
2. GOW 3
3. Ghost of Sparta
4. Ascension
5. GOW 1
6. Chains of Olympus
I realize that is just my opinion, but I have played them all multiple times and was there Day 1 for GOW 1. I know some won't agree with my Ascension over GOW 1, but GOW 1 doesn't hold up that well after playing the others. It was the...
Just like Kurt Russell said above me. Doom 3 BFG is buttery smooth. One of the major marketing and selling points for the game was running at 60 frames per sec. So, yeah the slow down issue would be an internet or youtube thing, cause I never saw in issues in my play thru either.
Regardless of weather or not you liked the ending or even if the co-op multiplayer was not your bag. You have to give credit to Bioware for suporting the multiplayer for a whole year with free DLC. Five packs in total with dozens of new characters, weapons, gear, maps, objectives, and enemies. I think its the right way to do multiplayer. Yes there is the tempting microtransactions of buying packs with MS points, but each Gold match is almost enough to buy the high end packs.

lol, we clearly see what Gearbox does with its' creative freedom....Ladies and gentlemen I give you Aliens: Colonial Marines.
