Unfortunately no Firefight mode in Halo 4, sure this new Spartan Ops mode sounds interesting, it will not replace the battle tested survival mode that me and many others enjoy playing in co-op.
The only reason the Auction House is the way it is is because Activision wants to make more money and because of this, the single player and multiplayer fans have had to suffer thru unnecessary log in problems, lag, and now hacking is just the cherry on top.
I am so tired of your elk apologizing for this type of unnecessary DRM intrusion into a hobby I love.
This just adds to the arguement that constant online to play even the single-player game is a bad idea. Tempting hackers with account or gamers information in the name of securing your intellectual property is a poor excuse.
Such a stupid article and topic. Dungeon Siege 3 and Torchlight have been released in the last 12 months and prove Diablo 3 would work just fine with a controller. Problem I see as that the greedy Activision would not want to share any monies from the Auction House with Sony and Microsoft.

The real issue with anit-piracy measures is that it punishes the wrong people. Pirates will also pirate a game and get if for free, D3 will be no exception. Yet the always online and having to be connected to play single-player are affecting those that have supported the developer by purchasing their game.

Activision really needs to get a grip. This makes their two most recent big releases a mess. COD MW3's elite service was busted in various forms for weeks. Will the same thing happen to Diablo 3? Not looking good so far.
Really? If someone doesn't like the multiplayer they must suck at it. Here is a novel approach, maybe he didn't like the multiplayer because he just didn't like it.......see how that works.
Although this is a nice feature, the 360 should have had this years ago and if this and live services is the main focus at E3 then Microsoft will look silly.
There have been MANY series and franchises that are excellent with great sequels and they can not become great series without more than one game obviously. In modern gaming, GOW 2 is better than 1. COD:MW is better than the three before it. The new Batman is better than the first. These are just a few examples.
I do not buy into writing off a character and universe after one game. I say let it mature and polish it up and see where it takes us.

I trust Visceral Games, they proved to me, from their first two games, that they know what their doing and have a good handle on this genre.
If it releases it will be a day one purchase for me.
The systems need to be significant enough upgrades to warrant their purchase. I do not want a PS3.5 or 360.5.
Do not lockout a huge part of the fanbase by locking out used games.
Do not lockout another large part of fanbase by requiring online connection to play single-player games.
If those are not met then I have tons of games not finished or have not got to yet from this generation, so I could skip next gen all together.

I played all weekend. It's a better game than the original. More polished, frustrating difficulty spikes gone, better graphics, better powers.
I think the economy is putting a strain of lower sales on most games unless your a big time AAA franchise like COD, Halo, ME, Etc.
