ah, the rub. The article stats that the reveal was such a disaster that MS will need to rely on its games to convince people to pony up its hard earned cash in this recessive market, but MS does not have the first party resources to pull that off.
This is their third console and there is a trend of few first party Core titles. We only have to look at what happened to 360 to get a picture of Ones future. A nice amount of exclusives the first few years then a dwindling amou...
15 exclusives my ass. How many are Kinect titles? How many are arcade titles? How many are actual AAA core games? That is a big question. MS exclusives are weak. The 360 has had few first party exclusives the last couple years and only Gears Judgement this year and the year is half over. MS doesn't have the first party resources in place to support their consoles and I believe gamers are becoming enlightened to that fact. Just like with each of their last two consoles, exclusives ...
how many of those 15 and 8 are kinect and arcade titles. I expect few AAA core games there. MAybe a couple new core IP's if lucky. MS just doesn't have the first party titles that has been proven over two generations already.
Actually MS did change gaming. They managed to chase off the core fanbase they built over the last 11 years in just under an hour. That truely is industry changing.
The thing is that MS has a reputation for poor E3 showings at least the least 3 or 4 E3's, that if they are betting on E3 then they are betting on a long shot.
greed and it has totally made me disgusted. I am an XBL Legacy member and my subscription runs out in August. I am not reupping my Live account.
If it is tied to your gamer account, yes and that is what I have been reading. Currently games are tied to whatever console they are put in so you can play offline. If they tie to your account, I don't see how it can not be anything but always on to play.
Yeah but even that was a WTF moment, because I think fans want an Alan Wake 2.
The author stated that it's a great looking entertainment device. I beg to differ and think it's rather fugly looking really.
Don Mattrick is such a joke. Former EA lackey now heading Xbox brand into ground. Is what it should say on his resume.
Rumors were true.
It's weak sauce.
No buyola.
rofl at the bottle rocket science comment. The way the Xbox One is sounding it might just fizzle on out TBH.
I have not seen one mention of playing games offline. What I am seeing is there is a mandatory install, in which it is verified you are the original owner of the game or have purchased a used game fee, that my friend results in online to play games, because it will be tied to ur account not console.
If Sony has a used game fee, fine but they have already made it clear games can be played offline and MS did not address any of the burning rumors going around, which to me is ...
I am a big fan of the crackdown franchise, but I can't get an Xbox One in its current state:
Always on Kinect
Always on to play games
Used game fee
In all due respect for Crackdown, but no thanks.
hey it's enough for that first used game fee, hahahaha.
what? No good?
Neogaf is lit up. Xbox supports are taking it badly and rightly so. MS should be ashamed of themselves but its in their nature, they we realize what they have done when sales are bad for this new xbox and they will be bad.
This mandatory hdd install to play games and always online to identify you counts me out. Hotel connections suck and constatly drop.
Sony confirmed games can be played offline, so even if they have a used game fee as well, I will go ...
I am an XBL Legacy member (10 years) and MS just lost a customer in me. I travel weekly for work, so I live in motels 4 days of each week. I currently bring my 360 or PS3 with me for something to pass time in my room.
I will not be carrying an Xbox One and Kinect with me everywhere I go. So MS made my decision for me...PS4 it is.
Of those 8 new IP's, I wonder how many will be core titles and how many will be Kinect. If I were a betting man, I would go with more Kinect titles.
What MS needed to do here was address the always online to play games and if used games were going to be locked. By not addressing those rumors, then I think the lack of addressing them is confirmation of those rumors.
Did they address always on to play games or are we to assume that always on kinect, means always on to play?
Did they address used games?
I did not see any of that.
lol, classic
