I don't trust them. Especially after this new NSA scandal of monitoring millions of citizens phone habits here in the US. The Department of Justice monitoring phone, email, and everything else on reporters and even members of congress.
It is not a question of if they will monitor and record, its the fact that they can and could in the future without anyone knowing or explicit consent. No Thank U.
110 million to be exact. 110 million without internet connection and add more that don't have broadband in just the US.
Well the Xbone is confirmed a no go for me. Sure I have high speed at home, problem is I spend 3 nights a week at hotels for work and usually bring my 360 or Ps3 to pass the time. Ever try connecting a game console to hotel wi-fi? Lets just say the Xbone won't be working for my situation. Now I can only hope Sony keeps their word about offline gaming or I will have to forget about them as well and go with Wii, even though I hate their controller.
Since M$ and other publishers don't want console gamers to own the games they buy because its killing them (which has been industry standard for 3 decades and the industry has grown huge in that time) then we damn well shouldn't buy the games. No ownership = No buy. If they want to sell us a license to play = rental then they need to price those games down to rental prices. End of story.
DRM will kill off all short in length games (noone is going to pay $60 for ...
My XBL gold membership runs out 9/7 and with all the things wrong with Xbox One and the Microsoft MeltDown, I don't plan on giving M$ anymore of my hard earned money to play online, so I am getting this for PS3.
Great read. I particular enjoyed the reference to cloud gaming: MS borrowed this picture from NASA to show what bullsh** looks like from space. lol, classic.
Agreed, as much as I love the GOW franchise there have been 6 GOW games in 8 years, it has gamer fatigue. Time to let that franchise take a vacation for some years then maybe reboot. I think a Heavenly Sword 2 from GOW developers could be really good or a new IP all together.
I assume this is Microsoft being clearer with its message? Sad and pathetic just as I described the reveal. MS and I have grown in different directions over the last 12 years.
It is very apparant that MS does not care about its consumers, just look at the PS3. The review scores for exclusive The Last of US just came out and its being called a generation defining experience and its a new IP. The PS3 also has the new IP Beyound Souls coming in a few months. What has MS o...
Yes Heavenly Sword 2. Since the TV show the Fringe is done the original voice actor for the main character could be available. I would like Stig to polish the swordplay thought as it felt weak and unsatisfying to me. Also, the block mechanic was an afterthought. I would like to see a HS 2, that would shock alot of people and get many cheers as that has become a cult like game now.
I do not respect this guy, as he is a sell out of the highest order, but he is right about TLOS.
Good point, what about over zealous gamers that get banned for idiotic things, are their single player games then rendered useless? I haven't seen any journalist bring this up, that needs to be addressed as well. Because before another gamer could use another profile or console, now the game is tied to your account, what happens to banned accounts or those wrongly banned. Man I just see a mess a brewing.
Exactly and I believe why the reveal was delayed a month was for them to rehearse this staged event over and over to get in sync. Microsoft didn't want to have another incident like they did with Kinect when Kudo trouted out there and his avatar got twisted into knots because the Kinect wasn't ready for primetime, it still isn't ready to this day and may never be, but i digress.
I know you are trying to be optimistic Captain, but consider your library of games some years down the road and you want to do some gaming only to find out those games are no longer supported and can't be validated so all your games are useless, that is the untold truth of DRM. It renders all your games and console useless in the future.
Gamers aren't saying the Xbox isn't a powerful console, what they are saying is that it isn't as powerful as it could be. Most gamers will now have to pay for the Kinect being packed in. Given the option, they would rather Kinect be option and the money have been spent on better RAM and a better GPU, which by the way is what Sony did on the PS4, it does have better RAM and GPU, this has been analyzed in numerous articles already on tech sites.
Someone explain...
Nice try Phil, but I am not willing to give over my consumer rights or first sale docterine just so you fat cats can buy bigger yachts.
If PS4 does the same then I will stick with current gen until the games I want to play run dry (including my 20 game backlog) then I will reluctently get a PS4 and will buy FAR FAR fewer games and spend more time with other areas of life.
We already know two things that debunk this article already:
1. PS4 has the best and fastest RAM available. Not only that but the PS4 will have 7GB's of RAM available for games where Xbox will have 5 GB's. Running three Operating Systems will do that to a console.
2. The PS4 GPU has 6 more cores than Xbox's
This gives 33% more raw horsepower to PS4. I think that is an advantage that most sensible gamers would agree. 33% is not an i...
Just as the stock market crashes from time to time, then let the game industry crash. It will sort out the idiots like EA and the market will come back stronger. Stop using used games as a crutch. I didn't see automakers go around trying to eliminate used cars because they were in trouble and selling fewer new cars a couple years back.
The empty suits in the gaming business are a complete joke and so are many journalists in this industry.
I thought it was clear that The One was a draconian piece of hardware. I see others stating on here, now accepting it and saying about being clear on used game fees. There doesn't need to be used game fees, they don't need to clear anything up but say no fees, as far as I am concerned I will not support that kind of crap.
And anyone who accepts fees as the norm, well then you deserve fees out the a**.
I couldn't agree more, bubbles to you.
This is a threat to the industry. Seems like used games haven't kept the industry from expanding for 3 decades to where its bigger than the music and movie industry.
So whats the problem really. It's greed. It is not that they don't make enough. They make hundreds of millions. If they are complaining or close shop it is most likely due to mismanagement.
There are fans in the Sony camp and there are some in the Microsoft camp. However...
