Up yours EA.
No more sharing between friends and family. But most importantly there would be no retro gaming years down the road on systems that block used games so those consoles in a sense would have no history.
Also, Amazon isn't taking preorders yet. All you can do is sign up to be notified when it is available to pre-order. This article is bunk.
I see some on here saying to won't make a difference and I whole heartly disagree and they use the current gen as they example, but that is not a good example because the 360 and PS3 had grossly different architectures.
This time the architectures are the same, so the difference will be the hardware and PS4 has better RAM and a better GPU, plus their tools are better. Sony has opened the hardware up to more closely program to the silicon, whereas MS is restricting that...
Yeah Xbox has no chance to outsell PS4 worldwide. The 360 had a year and 9,000,000 console head start on PS3 and the Sony got ripped for how expensive it was so PS3's first few years were awful.
Now the PS3 has passed the 360 in worldwide sales dispite the fact the 360 has over 10,000,000 lead in US.
That proves how big the European and Japan markets truely are. Xbox One would have a hard time in those markets even if Kinect was not always on and DR...
This ia a PR stunt as suspected. Just more smoke and mirrors from MS to hide that Xbox One hardware is inferior to PS4. There are articles debunking this and outlining the limitations of Cloud computing.

It is admirable that you champion this tech.
I am not as optimistic. From what I have read and how it is currently utilized from High End PC's. I just think it is not viable for less powerful tech in consoles. At least in the way Microsoft is presenting it.
It is not only download but upload speeds and uploads speeds by providers in the US have been slow.
There is also issues with where and what countries your data will be stored. There are privacy and lost data issues. Server traffic also effects performance of Cloud computing. There are just so many viables to this system to make it safe and reliable.
Google Cloud computing there are lots of articles and good discussions about it.
So it looks like Just Cause 3 might be Xbox One exclusive or timed exclusive due to how Avalanche Studios has been sticking up for MS.
On the the Cloud thing, this idea that Cloud will make your console more powerful is bunk. Local hardware is far more effective, this is why PS4 has 1/3 more GPU cores, faster and more available RAM.
But lets talk about Cloud for a moment. There are difficult obstacles to consider for Cloud computing. First it requires ...
Iceman hate to be the bearer of bad news, but a few months back Respawn announced that Jason West resigned for personal reasons.
Even if Sony was stonewalled on the used game issue and forced into DRM by publishers. Always on Kinect is a deal breaker for me and for many others. The big brother daily check in is also a deal breaker. Also, the tech is more powerful in the PS4 from the quicker RAM with more available for games (5 GB vs 7 GB)to the GPU, where PS4 has 18 cores to Xbox's 12. Also, it looks like MS still wants gamers to pay an annual fee to play online, that is ridiculous in the year 2013.

Well if thats eight of the 15 games, I wouldn't be all that excited really.
If 360 proved anything its that when it comes to MS and their own first party games, its been crap. Rare has done nothing really for going on 8 years (Kameo), Fable 3 wasn't very good, Halo 4 just came out so it would surprise if we saw anything there, and noone has any idea who Black Tusk is made of and what they are making. Turn 10 has been good if you are into racers. But relying on MS own games to pull them thru is not a good horse to bet on.
Why is Rememdy showi...
Then they can make the Kinect optional. I don't trust these big corporations and their empty suits, when they say stuff. Just the simple fact this has to be addressed means their is a problem and it needs to be eliminated and to do that Kinect needs to be optional.
I think the problem is that MS locked into this always on architecture. Kinect has to be on for console to run, Xbox One has to be connected online to verify you own game, console has to be connected to us...
I was actually being sarcastic on this post and really the only reason I am being anti-microsoft is because of their plans for an anti-consumer piece of hardware. I actually have owned all the consoles and am an XBL Legacy member, but I can't support this kind of practice.
Here are my Top 5 features:
1. DRM so our games have no value and when the console becomes retro the games will become unplayable as well. Hay, who needs to add on to their gaming libraries they have been building for 10, 20, or 30 years.
2. Kinnect always on, so we can feel safe that someone is watching that we are ok.
3. Always on, so we check in with our big brother on at least a daily basis, so we know everything is current on our s...
You are absolutely right moonman. Some people will accept it like the good little drones they are, while others will not forget this. They may accept it, but they will not forget. IMHO Microsoft has taken a HUGE reputation hit in the gaming industry, this is way beyound what Sony suffered with the PS3 debacle.
Well written article on consumer rights and when you buy something it has become your property. Game publishers feel privileged and I think its about time consumers in the US bring this before the courts. Other countries like Europe have already stated consumer have rights on games they purchase. It is rights you receive for handing them your money.
I really enjoyed Infamous 1 & 2 and even Festival of Blood. I am really looking forward to seeing this developer bring this universe to next gen. Oh the possibilities, the effects, the physics, I am excited.
DLC MP maps are now Major Annoucements for EA. How desperate and pathetic.
