PS3 has great potential, but it's only a hardcore gamer's dream. Wii will obliterate it every holiday, and then Wii 2 will repeat said ass kicking. Why? Because Nintendo knows "games". Sony just knows "movies". Everything they put into PS3 just screams "living room entertainment". Even their best games are praised for their "cinematic experience". They have so many developers out there putting so much time and resources into making said cinematic games....
Nobody looks at how well x360 has done this gen. It is a premiere contender, and looking back just 2.5 years ago when I got mine I see how far it has come long. I see at least another 2 years, with winter 2010 being the target launch. A 2011 purchase for me.
I have Starz movie download service provided by Verizon. $5/month and I get unlimited movie rentals. The movies are DRM protected and designed to expire after 30 days, and can be viewed as many times as I want during that period. I have a 768kbps DSL connection and I still can have 3 new movies every morning if I select them the night before. The actual video files are on average 1.2GBs in standard definition. They may not be HD, but look exceptional to me, and for $5/month you can't beat the...
Just because they've decided to move on with their ambitions doesn't mean that they're not the same people. Of course, they literally aren't the "same" people. You'd have to go to mystwalker to get the old squaresoft back, and they've done some fine work with lost od and blue dragon. But wait, because you're all pro Sony you can't see past your own console, so you have no one else to blame but yourself.
And Cloud was cool, but by no means was he revolutionary. A guy wit...
Ouch. Well, then surely it's coming soon. I'd hate for it to be missing a truly revolutionary gameplay element like that, cuz then...where's the GotY if this patch doesn't come out until next year?
Open zone is officially enemy territory! Like in Bad Company, that red area you know? It's where the firing ranges are open and unattended.
I have high hopes for this game...it's got FF pedigree.
The world is little more universal than we think. Companies like Adobe and Google, as well as even Apple and Microsoft themselves thrive in both the PC and MAC universes. But there do exist barriers. For instance, Apple's reluctance to expand into the PC world is matched by Microsoft's poor support of Mac versions of their software (Media Player 9?). Quicktime Player has been known to cause problems with Windows (Live) Photo Gallery's thumbnail function. They pull the reigns on each other, an...
I want free Live. There, I said it. I'm in perfect agreement with every one else here who sees that Live should be free.
Why isn't gas free? Why isn't electricity free? Why do we not only pay for city water, but also BOTTLED water?
Well...you just may be already set in your decision. But that doesn't change the fact that I have Live. I play on Live. I thrive on Live. I don't have PSN. I don't care for PSN. Anything PSN does not interest me. I do not own a PS3.
So, we are in agreement to disagree. But what does that have to do with this article? Nothing. Amazon prices a discounted XBL subscription. Does it interest you? No, so don't be here to argue with the people that ARE interested. Nothing against you pe...
It's one of the biggest gripes. But look at it this way: season premiere of Dexter is a week from tomorrow. But you need Showtime in order to see it, right? If you think Showtime is luxury, then you won't pay for it. Well, same thing goes for gaming. And gaming is worse, since it's arguably an already expensive hobby as it is.
I think it's doing its job: keep the low IQ people away from the real gamers...and sharp objects.
Close_Second hit it pretty well on the head. I love my x360, but when I see that you have to pay PER account, it can add up. Roommates tell me "so I have to play the game on YOUR account if I want to get online". Yep. It truly sux.
(breath in...breath in)
MICROSOFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!
ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!
I was actually convinced that "the whole number band thing was out"
sum 41 AKA the Sums
Pure would've actually been nice. I want to see some interesting names, like Bob or Dachovney. Or urethra.
Or Xbox Free
Or PlayStation Fo'
(man, my future wife isn't going to like me when it's time to name the kids:)
Yes, price is a BIG difference. Mostly, PC oem vendors can usually make their systems a whole lot cheaper. But now that Apple basically gets its parts from those same people (Intel, ATI, etc) you could get a decent priced Mac now. I chose the Mac Mini, since it's completely what I'm looking for in a Mac: something that I can hide when my PC friends come over:)
(or I can just say it's my lunchbox!)
J/K, I love Mac. I just like Windows a little bit more since it's just...
Fight smear tactics with the sympathy card. Draw tears and make the other company look guilty. If you look at it, it's all Microsoft could have done. The interesting thing to note here is that Microsoft is the ONLY company standing up for PC, and it's not even their job to do so. Theoretically, that should be up to IBM...
"Business Machines"
I guess that kinda takes the "user friendly" image out of it, huh?
So, when a company like Mic...
I want this game. And I hope for a PSP version of Dirge of Cerberus. Yes, it may not be all that, but it would chain together the two side stories really well: Zacks story (CC), and Vincent's story (DoC).
They did so many things right back then. But I overall approve of their current structure. I just really hope that they know who their fans were. And who they are now...today. I've always regarded them as premiere software developers. Nothing's changed, they're just trying to grow. And they haven't betrayed Sony in the least bit. FF is still primarily synonymous with PlayStation. There will be FFs on PS3. There will be FFs on PS4.
Come on man, it just means that Japan is starting to respect the x360. Little by little, the people are seeing that brand loyalty is one thing. Getting the games you want, THAT'S the bottom line. Likewise, if I want MGS4 then I need to step out of x360 for a while and buy a ps3. But if MGS4 doesn't exist, then no matter how loyal I am I am not getting the games I want.
So, I'm sure there are some extreme Sony loyalists who took it ALL TOO much to heart. Both consoles will be receiving identical versions, nothing will be cut out from either. There will be no definitive version, so that neither console could lay claim to superiority. A financially sound investment in Squeenix's eyes. They will benefit from the revenues generated by a multiplatform FF and Versus will be all the more something to look forward to. As well as other projects.
Great idea. Make it happen!
