I had a GameCube and owned the RE Remake, RE Zero, and RE 4. The remake was BY FAR the best game in the series, and it's too bad it was never on PS2. Zero just seemed like an extension to the original, but I never complained. I actually miss that old system Capcom used for their REs, and who could forget how well they kept something as simple as a floor plan as the center of the experience!

Also, I'll agree that exclusiveness contributes to a game's final verdict of key areas like graphics and control. Anyone can tell you that they have more fun with a game that EXPLICITLY takes their hardware into consideration. But that doesn't mean that a game that is released on multiple consoles should be considered any lesser in quality. I just saw the new trailer for Resident Evil 5 and I have to say that it looks superb.

DJ, nobody had issues with 3rd party games when they were talking about PS2 OR PS. And nobody EVER believed that n64's 1st party games were better than the PLETHORA of 3rd party games PS was getting. AND ON TOP OF THAT, nobody EVER insulted the quality of 3rd party games on the PS or PS2.

I like the responses to this story. Chris, you said that Xbox 360 owners probably previously owned a PS2 and PS, as well as other consoles. This is true.
It's not like we're martians! It's just that in this point of our gaming experiences we own an Xbox 360. Does that make us uncool? No. Does that make us haters? No. Does that mean that we hate PS3? No. We just haven't bought it. Maybe we'll never buy it, but I don't see an issue with it OR the Sony brand.

When somebody says that "ps3's d-pad is better" all it really means is that they're comfortable with they have, and that in their opinion the competitor doesn't interest them. That's fine, since that means that Sony (or MS) has done their job in appealing to THEM. It shouldn't really have anything to do with ME, since I might like x360's controller just fine the way it is. I don't see anything wrong with a business decision like this, seeing how the economy is slow enough for them to WANT to make back their initial investments and development costs as soon as possible.
If you think about it right, you'll see that it makes the most since. By releasing their more notable titles on both consoles they expose them to a wider base of potential buyers. Sort of like how you see taco vendors selling their foods near the entrances to stores, as shopping area...
The optional install will save you quite a bit in the way of loading times. It's funny though that they used GTA4 as an example. Sandbox games like that you can play for hours on end without ever actually getting into a mission:) Plus, it was built pretty efficient as it is, the only thing you'll be able to REALLY notice is texture pop in. I think games like Kameo and Ratchet Clank will benefit most from installs. Anything linear and very exploratory.
