umm, okay. Fine with me. Wait the 20 mins it takes for people to show up (including people who get tired and back out). It's not quantity. It's quality. And I'll admit that there are some truly a$$hole Gears players out there who make things miserable for "n00bs", but believe me when I say that Gears owns. Nothing comes close to it. Nothing ever will. Maybe KillZone2 (an obvious must buy) but it's just not here yet.

It will offer different kinds of games then what we'd play on consoles. So, sure it could be considered an "entertainment platform". But not a gaming platform. Most of us will buy it for its being a:

1) touchscreen phone
2) portable media device
3) really pretty phone (I can't really say that enough)

But I'm sure only the casual gamer would even consider it a competitor to the PSP. PSP just does things better.

"Final Fantasy XIII is most wanted game in Japan"

Of course it is. They support their own kind (jrpgs). Ask them about western games and there will be a big pause of silence, followed by the proverbial "...right".

This how they hinder the growth of the games industry. Any game with Square or Enix backing it becomes their pride and joy. They don't give a chance for other genres to grow, and consequently have been been playing the same kinds of game...

why turn this into a flamewar? We both like the game, so let's leave it at that. FF XIII will be a great game, but Xbox has many rpgs now and quite a few in the future. Why do you feel that Squeenix needs to be on Sony's side? Can't you see that having games on both platforms benefits both sides, since future games will have that much more money in their budget, which means better games for everyone? Jeez, some fanboys...

Gosh, I stopped at the Pokemon Trading Card Game back on the GameBoy Color. I also had Yellow, and I was friggin into the whole shebang. That was like 8 years ago.

I played the GB Advance games (I think they were Gold and Silver?) but I stayed away from buying them. I was way too obsessed for my own good!

That whole section on the top of this (and pretty much any) article with all those guys getting like 4515151551145134523 disagrees proves that fanboys just don't get it. There are people here on N4G who make it their mission just to be here in groves and hammer the disagree button and take away bubbles. I'm just now getting back up to 5 (standard) and it took me a while to do so.

When people are so negative that they feel the need to overcompensate for their ignorance, it's the g...

I played the demo. It really is a great game, and I guess it just goes to show you that there are still some reviewers left out there who don't cream over graphics alone. And the graphics are superb anyway, but it's the game play that rules.

Question: is it made off of the same engine as DiRT or Grid? It just has that superbly awesome trademark look of the two.

BTW, Grid owns any racer out there. Graphics are top notch and the sense of speed is thrilling. Love the re...

Taint, runway, gooch and goose. Is there a scientific name for it as well? Anyway, XBL mods just want to make sure that the play environment isn't getting too hostile or negative. I'm sure there are a lot of people who would just love to name themselves Slave4You or DongHigh but come ON! Just make your avatar and move on. The age of funny names and pseudonyms was over a while ago (it feels so nineties).

Unlock power...just sounds stupid to me. A console's potential is figured out from the beginning. Nothing ever changes, developers just get better at the task of creating games. There is no "hidden power".

What they're really trying to say is that there is still more to do. More that they can still hope to achieve from the hardware. Both consoles still have years of lifetime, so to confirm that they're still going to be getting by with they've got, developers often use ...

I'm betting on it getting some pretty heralding commendations! It's been shaping up to be one pretty good looking game (graphics are astounding). I just hope combat really got fine tuned (I played Lost Chapters on PC w mouse and keyboard). Anyways, I'm sure it's be magically lifting wallets, come this October.

(damn, I have to start making games too.)

The last one I played (on a console) was 3. I totally skipped PS2 all together (personal reasons) and I do have good memories of playing 5 at the local theater (great game). It just doesn't appeal to me anymore, I like Namco's premiere weapons based fighting game series Soul Calibur a lot more. And I'm quite partial to Dead or Alive, though I'm sure any sort of sequel will now be even more distant than before.

Baek Dosan (I think that's how you spell it) was one of my favorites f...

So...people are complaining that the video games industry is to be in the positive at the end of the holidays? I think both sides should be celebrating, it just means that the games are gonna keep on coming. PS3 will have a blast, x360 will have a blast. Wii will have a blast.

Well, I see a lot of people DO have a problem with Vista. I've been on it since RC-1, and even though it had its problems I never cursed it so much that I ended up wanting to go back to xp. The way I had it setup was to dual boot anyway, so getting back into xp was no problem.

Sure, it's a really demanding OS. But how could you expect it NOT to be? You have all this new hardware out there and people say "My GeForce could render the entire GUI!! Why don't they make an OS that...

I have enough games as it is (still playing Mass Effect...it's good). But my must-buys are Gears 2 and Fable 2, though Gears feels so much more hardcore than the 1st. And to those who say it's more of the same, no. I think they've stepped it up quite a few notches. Being able to use human shields is a nice touch, but it's the new weapons (and that cool shield) and the awesome level design (what a great game world) that make it worth the dough.

Fable 2...I played Lost Chapters on my...

I remember getting into that craze. It was like 99, and we were going into the new millennium ranting and raving about DreamCast, Smack Down and...pocket monsters?! But seriously, I was into the cards, the GameBoy games, even their little appearances in other games (Pokemon Snap, Smash Bros). I watched the series on Kids WB. I card battled at the local collectibles shop (The Flip Side). It was cool, but...I was in my freshman year at Reseda High! I mean, I wasn't alone but it sure was embarra...

How about bringing us the story (single player mode) we deserve. I loved Halo3 don't get me wrong. It received probably the best audio direction in any game to date (save Bioshock, since it's so retro it's cool). But I feel it ended all to typical. Kudos for making us wait until after the credits to see what happens to MC.

Also, let's stop dissing the resolution. I believe people just see that number and forget that it's to make the glorious FP HDR rendering possible. Halo3 has s...

I think I have a solution for the wii to stay alive: more gimmicky add-ons!

The Whiil Chair! (for those who have been impared due to nunchuk use)
The Wii Nii (a set of kneepads for those date sims...darn rug burns)
The Wii Suk (something for lonely men...)

Also, they need to bump Mario off of being their mascot. I elect Jason Acuna

AKA

WII MAN!!

I've used Ubuntu (8.04 "hardy heron") Solaris 10, and all sorts of alternatives. Only Microsoft and Apple have been truly on the nail with their progression. Linux may be open source and I truly support the free and open source software initiative, I still see Windows and Mac as the two driving forces of the computer world. It all really comes down to standards.

There are certain evolutions that have come to pass because of something that either company pushed to become s...

I will agree that Vista was probably a little too much for the average person's PC. But I think a greater portion of people's problem with Vista lies in the fact that Microsoft has to provide a lot of support for many different hardware configurations.

Vista was released on a DVD just so that they could load as many drivers as possible for the different hardware parts out there. And they still didn't hit the target all that well, as people had issues trying to get their PCs to work...
