I think they've gotten somewhere. But if it took a price cut to keep its lead over PS3, I see PS3 coming in pretty close this gen. Which is great because it's going to take both of them to compete with the Wii.
Idea: it would have been nice if x360 didn't have to cut its price so low. That really thins out their deck of cards to draw from. Hopefully Microsoft can start REALLY moving with x360 past its prime. Otherwise I do see PS3 becoming a larger threat than the Wii.

people say that RSX has access to both, but that's only partially true. Cell/RSX has been worked on in such a way that it could be considered a combined rendering array. So, RSX may be aided by Cell, which in turn uses that XDR pool. The memory is STILL hardwire programmed to be dedicated to their respectful processors.

Nobody's debating Gears' glory. I just think that Halo3 did shooters IN GENERAL a lot better. Even Epic themselves stated that Gears' online went way out of proportion when people started utilizing one generic strategy to succeed. The run, roll, and shotgun/melee tactic.

I can't believe we're pitting Gears against Halo3. They're both good games, but Halo3 takes the crown hands down. They both deserve 10/10, but Halo3 is just too pure. Gears is an absolute must buy for fans of shooters, but Halo3 owns online. Forge is TO DIE FOR!
word. Halo3 is FPS gaming nirvana. Controls are some of the tightest in any FPS I've ever seen or played.
Gears is for the frantically over the top bloodsport lovers. Halo3 is FPS rated E (though I coulda swore there's an M rating on it...yep there it is!)

It's the fact that these consoles still can't completely get us 1080p gaming. They're both well built, but when developers start REALLY innovating the first they do to allow for all of that extra graphics work is cut back on the resolution. 720p is the standard to shoot for until the next consoles arrive. That doesn't mean that there aren't any games on either console in 1080p. It just means that this gen was heavily populated by games that REALLY pushed the hardware. So much that they decide...

I believe games that STAY exclusive can be appreciated more. But all of this multiplatform stuff in the end is better for the customer. We don't have to go out and buy 2 machines. Isn't PSN a copy of Live? Or how about the HDD? Or even in game communication? How about Media Center style console navigation? And home isn't a copy of Miis either?
