oh...isn't cellbe an IBM processor? let's make this a game of "where's waldo"
how many PCs out there ship with an IBM proc?
"OH! There He Is!"

BTW, he's not in the pic. unless his back is towards us?
...if none of it mattered than why tout better hardware? What are all of those shader pipelines for?
Your statement fails.
"The final question is, what does it look like?"
What the phunk else do you think determines what it looks like? We're talking about what gets painted on screen. Pixels.
Without AA, or with AA, you tell me "what does it look like?"
HD or subHD, you tell me "what does it look like?"
ps3's architecture is very rigidly designed. devs must fit their workload into ps3's memory restrictions. on ps3 the frame buffer resides in the graphics memory. x360 has a far more forgiving memory configuration, with 512MB of system memory shared between Xenos and Xenon, and 10MB of EDRAM specifically dedicated to Xenos for the purpose of a tile rendered final frame buffer.
this is why most x360 games aim for a 1280x720 4xMSAA resolution, though pixels/samples are always the f...
PS3's GTA IV runs without AA and in subHD (1152x640).

X360's GTA IV runs with 2x AA and in HD (1280x720)
which ever looks best is obviously personal preference, but logically PS3's GTA IV is inferior. not by much, though having no AA is always noticeable.
I'm really beginning to like the out come of this game.
though i wish to see for my self and not threw a FORUM comment.
anyways, i can't wait to see IGN's review.
i was only implying on how the name sounds similar.
i had absolutely no intentions of it sounding offensive.
or you'll hop in the backseat of your parents vehicle!
AHAHAHAH! i had to say it!
if mario kart 64 didn't exist, then diddy kong racing 64 would be my all-time favorite. actually...it kinda does beat mario kart in a lot of ways (3 vehicle types, insane level design, awesome multiplayer)
the graphics ARE a 10/10. you just may not like the art direction. surely Ratchet Clank (another 3d action adventure platformer) has a different art direction altogether, but they're both pushing some insane graphics.
I'm currently working on a piece of art entitled:
Ganja Kazooie

it's not the storage medium that determines the resolution of the game. MGS4 and Haze say hi

i remember those days...doing the swap trick to get an imported title to work. or putting a clicking pen's spring in the back of the lid to hold down the button and then you could just stop the disc and swap it.
man...that was long ago!
they just didn't have much competition. Saturn tanked from the get go (despite being home to many of many favorite games), and n64 was Nintendo trying to hold on to its cartridge based roots (quite literally) in a new era.
It's got nowhere to go but up. Problem isn't price, and it isn't market penetration. It's reason.
Sony thinks "HDTVs haven't penetrated the market enough" to package in HDMI cables yet, but also thinks that bluray is "the future". Yeah, sure it is. Nobody's denying that bluray is THE format for HD movie viewing. I just believe that PS3 should be more about the games than about the movies.
And so far bluray's only advantage is purely in capacity.....
Advance was cool. But nothing ever beat the coolness that was a GB Color equipped with a GB Camera! I actually had three add-on cartridges for my GB color: the GB GameShark, GB Mega Memory, and the GB Camera. I tried connecting them all at once...it was weird.
On topic, go Nintendo...you dirty nintendogs you!
you know, i just tried mass effect on a new x360 (60GB pro) and although i haven't even installed it to the drive yet i've noticed that its performance is much smoother than before. like the scene with the beacon at the beginning, you know how it cuts frequently between movie clips and ingame graphics? if your drive isn't up to par you'll see a few frames of empty black space as the game tries to seek the disc. on my new x360 i never noticed it at ALL! plus the drive seems more up to the task...
q3 team arena. it was fun...gosh, i remember how new it was to have actual guns floating around instead of icons. too bad i had to tone down the graphics on my old system :(
i had a gateway 500SE back then.

agreed. i am QUITE jealous! VC is a solid game. brings me back memories of when jRPGs and Anime was all you could you find in my room, lol! i grew out of it, but never got rid of it. and i'm glad to see it coming back again!
Sh*t, but I guess I can wait! Dammit!
how shrek! the task manager must be hard to read:P
anyway, i hope things go smooth with se7en. i hope it will be an easy migration from vista too.
