very well put. men with balls will just say it out loud like that.

i sometimes envision elmo in full dom gear and whipping me with gooey licorice sticks.

yes, we men have NO insecurities with our sexualities. we love the women.

oh i forgot the sarcasm opt out.

...what you're saying is that a major dominant force in gaming shot itself in the foot, only to come back a decade later and stomp all over the people they ditched?

um...that actually sounds like a success story!

"success is how high you bounce back up after hitting rock bottom"

no, i didn't mean it that way. i actually was specifically talking about the story and subplot system. and yeah i agree that they're both compared unfairly. but so many people think that heavy rain is ushering in a whole new concept with its gameplay. and while it's true for its particular way (most of the choices made in mass effect are more about dialogue than your actual actions) i still think that a lot of credit is due to mass effect for making it a very workable system. WITHOUT getting ...

I think it's a game everyone plays. It's why companies have slogans that say "serving you since xxxx" or whatever. They want to trace their business back to the nails they used to put up the 2x4s, lol. They'll say they lay claim to being the original, and then tell you "Well, not us personally. We just later purchased the idea from so and so".

Personally, I agree with the "we live in the now" idea. I don't care about the original friggin KFC document...

There are alliances (renegade and paragon) as well as military history (ruthless, war hero, sole survivor) and pre-service history (earth born, spacer, colonist). And then of course there's your gender. You'll also chose who to woo in search of a mate (human or alien).

There're sub plots for each of those decisions and combinations. And benefits as well.

guys what they mean is that your character may or may not appear in 3, because of events in 2.

take heavy rain's gameplay and say "<cough>MASS EFFECT DID IT FIRST<cough>" and there you have it.

;)

oh and btw...why was there EVER this whole idea that alan wake was the closest thing to heavy rain? "<cough>MASS EFFECT DID IT FIRST<cough>"

edit: yeah, too many people are forgetting that the original Ma...

let's end the sam versus snake discussions. fisher has THE ULTIMATE in government spy technology, whereas snake is a different character altogether.

fisher's closest adversary (profession-wise) would be Gabriel Logan, from the Syphon Filter series. (remember that? GOD I LOVED THAT GAME!!!)

snake is more like rambo. a lone wolf, i mean he even has a commander like guy who he keeps in contact with just like rambo.

man...i remember buying opm #13, with the first playable demo of the game. it was in japanese and ended on the helipad when you entered either of the two vents. demo 15 had english voices and ended with the DARPA chief's heart attack.

i remember not having the cash for the game until like a year later (i was dirt poor, but loved my playstation). i was all like "so THAT'S what i've been missing!", lol.

time flew...

the female form can be seen elsewhere, and in much better angles.

add wild 9, klonoa, tomba, grandstream saga, and vagrant story to that list.

then it'll be a REAL SHAME not to own a psp.

there were 2 pc versions. Square EA and Eidos. I had the Square EA one, it was a square white box. And Eidos' verion was a triangle box, my friend had that one.

As for being sharper only the PC versions ran at 640x480 and only 16bit color. But the PSP's screen is small enough to where it'll still look its best, despite being 320x240.

And um...the battle menu status bar is going to be a REAL spoil since it's like a third of the screen.

3 reason's is all? and 2 bs ones as well?

still doesn't outweigh the coolness factor. you have to admit that this is a big improvement in gaming. not the idea itself, but the idea of microsoft being confident enough in their approach to put x360's rep at stake. i'd think that with the beating they took over rrod that they'd play it safe until next gen.

microsoft's got big cajones this year. :)

seriously, they added xbox originals to the marketplace...what more could you ask for? the original xbox controller?

they've taken the best of xbox and carried it over...how is that like being ditched? everything you loved about the first xbox is right in there along with tons of innovations built around the xbox 360, should you feel like moving into 2009 anytime soon ;)

ps3's specs aren't all that high, come ON! just admit it: bluray does its job at software sales IT SELLS MOVIES!!!!

and then people look at these movies and say "wow, the games must be in 1080p as well!" that's the trick. the illusion. the uneducated consumer will buy ps3 for its bluray and be made to think that the games are going to be the best. they're great, no argument there. but xbox 360 games match up just as well. microsoft doesn't have a fancy named cpu or disc...

xbox wasn't rushed. and neither was 360. nor vista.

in the case of vista, it was just that they were putting windows vista capable logos on pcs that couldn't barely run aero. also, people were confused when faced with buying 4 versions of vista and therefore would buy Home Premium (since home basic had such negativity about it, and people wanted aero) but then be disappointed when they tried to run it on their system.

as for 360, it was in the works since 2003. they ...

so...you put the game on more than 1 disc. which um isn't that much of a stretch. hey, i wish x360 had bluray as well, but truth be told it hasn't prevented games like Bioshock and Mass Effect from being stellar games.

it's only the exlcusive guys on sony's side that have anything to say about dvd, the rest just DO THE WORK AND GET IT DONE. and alan wake is going to be out in 2010 and has no problems with being on a DVD.

xbox 360 has 2010 in its sights too, so there'...

they just keep making the gap wider. this is what a TRUE online social gaming network does. they just keep making it easier, making it more fun, and making it fresh.

twitter, facebook, last.fm, netflix...i think i'm going to let go of my pc sometime soon, since about all that's left for me to use it is for skype internet and hulu...

add skype a web browser and hulu and you'll KILL, you hear me microsoft?!

you'll have it all on one console. social network...

seriously, what good games will there be? and when will it start moving away from just little brick games to something as high budgeted as a half life game?!

having the power is great. having the proof is better.
