I was thinking maybe they could have packages instead of membership levels. One package for tv and movies, maybe another for social networking, and then one for gaming online. But then they'd still be charging you for something, and you'd eventually regret not having the other packages. So the system works the way it is: you get it all with gold, and with silver you'll still be impressed.
Come ON guys! ONE friggin game, that's ALL it costs. I can't believe it's even a debate.
Xbox Live is just THAT DAMN GOOD. Even before the NXE update Xbox Live had its gamers covered. Even Silver members can enjoy just about every feature, minus of course the online gaming and netflix.

Summons and magic were what set FF apart from the rest. Oh sure, other rpgs had similar concepts. Like Enchanted Arms' magicore golems (I'm a little hazy on if that's what they were called), and lots of other rpgs had their similar summon-like spells. natal can't cause any harm, i mean that's just silly. personally, i believe failure can only happen if they don't push it enough. look at sixaxis, sony decided to make it the DEFAULT controller packed in with PS3. why? because is was well implemented: it STILL functions as a controller!

they keep the arcade going for the buyers who aren't too concerned with saving entire movies or games to their hdds. you'll still have the marketplace, you can get a media center setup if you want to stream movies, and you can stick with a 512MB memory unit if needs be.
the point is that the aracde sku can still play the games...that's where it matters.

yeah you're right, i only played a few minutes of the first game and nothing of the second. i bought halo 3 and have always been a fan ever since. i'm not mlg material, lol, but i do love its multiplayer experience, second to none!
and yes, you NEED to play it on legendary. i won't play halo 3 on anyhing BUT the highest difficulty, the AI truly becomes challenging. very rewarding!

it's just so that the devs don't have to compromise the testing of their game's code. it's like that performance boost you get when you upgrade memory in your PC and then do some video editing. your final edits won't be any different, but certains things (like loading clips) won't bring you to the edge of your system's memory...
i just bought halo wars yesterday, i've been into halo only since the 3rd game...but now i'm officially a halo fanboy :)

i said it before, the archery portion of the ps3's wiimote really amazed me. just imagine being able to revisit heavenly sword and play those archery segments with this thing...it would be awesome.
everybody has an idea this gen. nobody's gonna get it perfect. just take the concepts as they should apply to games in the way these companies are trying to emphasize them the best.
nobody can dis xbox live...those who do are just fanboys. seriously, if you've been hellbent on taking sides and have to BELIEVE that psn is better, by all means keep doing so. at that point it might even be hazardous to your health should you get your ass proven wrong...which WILL happen as soon as you create your id, pay the money, and start logging in.

being charged to play online is just how it had to be. in doing so basically microsoft ensured that there would be steady income from something that has been proven to succeed. and it's not like they've turned into a whore, xbox live treats its subscribers to every penny's worth of innovation that their cash pays for.

Well that's your own personal preference. It's fine if YOU don't need anything BUT the online gaming.
But then why buy a PS3? It has bluray, which has nothing to do with online gaming. It has memory stick readers and bluetooth...which again have nothing to do with online gaming, yet PS3 owners say "buy PS3 because it has everything".
