if you KNOW that you'll need a hard drive you'll buy the 360 that comes with one!
if you're 14 and just wanna play games and don't have any other need for your xbox 360 you'll just be getting the arcade system. you won't be concerned with game installs, you won't care about how much faster a game will load if it WERE installed.
microsoft didn't gimp anything, they did the right thing. optional installs ftw!
look at windows 7...they've got themselves a product now that i'll definitely buy.
but betas don't always work...
look at windows vista...they had betas and an rc, and people STILL complained about it. because some people you just can't please, and some people are biased.
i never really had much to complain about gears or gears 2. glitches come and go, just be thankful that they make good on their guarantees. i believe the BBB should ding a company for n...
you're absolutely right, but bluray isn't piracy proof either. i can get a bluray drive for my laptop...in 2007!
piracy is of blurays is rising, just look up "bluray rips" of your favorite movies on torrent sites, and you'll see that once again ripping apps have taken hold. where it used to be awesome to get a 360p divx rip of a dvd onto a 700MB cd, now it's getting a 720p h264 quality bluray rip onto a 4.5GB dvd.
people will always find ways to shrink and ...
I think it's more about how a $600 console is supposed to be the end all, do all finishing move fatality super hyper alpha V-ISM combo...
...and yet a majority of its games run without AA, and on average run at the same resolution as Xbox 360 games do (720p, a few even sub HD).
That's the whole point of this...the developers are starting to be demystified with the PS3 hype. PS3 is a great machine, but there's been such a chain gang of fanboys giving into Sony's h...
I like how shooters have shifted from mindless run'n gun gameplay. Doom 3, Halflife 2, those great shooters had just as great a story. Serious Sam was fun, but it's out of place this gen.
We kinda are spending more this gen, so I personally am more partial to the shooters that can do more, versus a game that's had its time. I'd love the old school appeal, but it can be had just by actually revisiting those old classics.
my 2 pennies.
A PS3 game costs $59.99
A 360 game costs $59.99
A Wii game costs $49.99
That's what it costs YOU.
PS3 games don't make any more money than 360 games do, but will cost developers MORE because of the premium that comes with working on such an exotic system.
By having in place an excellent online service and innovative casual gaming, Xbox 360 and Wii (respectively) prove that social gaming and having fun MUST take preference over a...
dude...Achmed?
i don't know much arabic, but i'm sure it's Ahmad, you just have to get the pronunciation right. there might be another spelling but Ahmad should be the right way to spell it.
Samsung makes GREAT TVs and monitors. I have a Samsung 19" that I've been using now for 2 years on my pc, excellent colors.
For big screens, honestly you can't go wrong with any TV you buy...given that you're spending more than $1000 on it. NOBODY makes anything decent if you've just got pennies to buy it, lol. 1080p screens in general can be had for around $1000, but the features packed into the better ones make them WELL worth the extra dough.
edit at above: ...
the list has only one rated E game.
all those games are great games, but they should've focused on making a list for each age group.
but i guess it's sorta true...if you have an xbox 360, you should have halo3. it's a given.
the man deserves every credit due to him. but the rock star life comes with a price...and that's having sh*tforbrains media and paparazzi cover every aspect of your life. it also means having lots of people trying to cash in on YOUR fame and do you wrong.
he's misunderstood. but he'll always be the king of pop, nothing can change that.
it probably WILL be the lbp of arcade racers. but honestly Forza 3 is what I'm waiting on. it combines the best of sim racing and user customizations.
keyboard and mouse don't have rumble. and having to boot into Windows and log in means others will be playing the game before you've even clicked the icon on your desktop.
the pc version has the POTENTIAL of looking better...if you have $1000 to build a system that's good enough to play it.
you can probably build a phenom x2 quad/radeon hd 4870x2 system pretty cheap nowadays, given that you don't have to buy a monitor, speakers, or input devices. and don't forget a L...
gears2 was all last year?
...maybe that's because our GotYs of 2007 were selling way into 2008 as well?
;)
We had Bioshock, Mass Effect, and Halo3 coming out of 2007. Xbox 360 also had great multiplats like Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4, Grand Theft Auto 4, and Devil May Cry 4 that were all welcome with great sales. A few that were even opinionated at being better experiences on 360.

and it's true that both consoles have a few games that have been in development forever. but as far as killzone2 and gears2 are concerned, they both have great graphics and one took half the time of the other to make.
and that's because the groundwork for gears 2 was built in the first gears. and they have ue3 to thank for that. they were able to build an engine that could scale upward with each game's expectations, simply by building revisions of the engine (ue3.5 for gears 2). ...
xbox 360 isn't having the same lag in development and yet produces games that are visually as stunning as ps3 games.
killzone2 was hyped too much over its graphics, and it had mainly to do with how long it was in development. whereas epic released 2 gears of war games in that time frame, and each game looks on par with killzone2.
plus in that time frame epic has made money off TWO games, while guerrilla has only been making money off ONE game.

because racing games while beautiful and awesome to play get are still just racing games. you run around in a circle oval figure eight or whatever else have you...it's going to be easy to mark those cars up a few notches in graphics since you're going to be seeing those same trees quite a few times.
;)
yeah, that first big mission was incredible. that's one friggin defining moment in gaming history, PERIOD! how can anyone else say otherwise?
you'd feel kinda dwarfed...the audience around you would be bigger than the guy playing! hahahaha!
This is the graphics war. I don't think KillZone 2 was better than Gears of War 2 as a game, but sure it has a notch higher in graphics. RE5 had insane detail and beats out MGS4 pretty easy...but Uncharted? Just barely.
Honestly giving them each a spot on any list is totally futile. These games are so stellar that they'd be within a millimeter of each other on a "real world" scale. I mean from a distance they'd all be number 1 games.
...you guys don't even have VOICE MESSAGES?
what does sony feed you to keep making you think psn is the shizelnit? man...no voice mail!!! wtf...
cross game chat was basically the groundwork for making xbox live parties possible. it's probably something all too foreign to someone who's never actually been on xbl, so i won't ding you for it.
just know that you're REALLY missing out.
