UMD wasn't bad at all, it was just so exclusive and controlled. if they made a drive for it on PCs and then said "download and burn your own content" it probably would've taken off pretty good. but then again it would've also been pricey and those UMD cartridge/discs would've been made only by Sony.
and UMD movies were SUPERB. i bought samurai champloo, house of flying daggers, and jet li hero (i love my asian kungfu cinema). the sound was INCREDIBLE! and the image was ...
iPhone/iPod touch? naw, for portable gaming you can't beat the current and previous psp models. a huge lcd screen, hardware buttons for gaming, even builtin stereo speakers! playing games on it felt just right THE WAY IT WAS!
psp go is just to keep the brand alive and to keep it from being seen as stagnating. nintendo likes to make revisions, it's what they do. and they do it so often that people see it as being something NEW each time. which feeds nintendo continuous consumer in...
people, the subject is "le mans in forza3". so let's talk about "le mans in forza3"
i loved le mans 24hr in Grid, when things got dark is was REALLY challenging! and the concept was pretty well done.
forza3 already looks like it way beyond shatters that!
yeah, he's probably going to feel a little more comfortable with xbox 360's memory resources, framebuffer bandwidth and shader power. his engine could fit into x360 specs quite well, with room left over for improvement. first off, ps3's gpu was an old 7 series based "standard shader array" with great pixel performance but it was pretty shafted in vertex performance and just doesn't afford the level of fleibility that a modern GPU equipped with "unified shaders" does. this ...
not a credible source anyway, but...come on! that's to be expected.
kojima optimized the hell outta the engine in place for mgs4 on ps3. but the very same can be done xbox 360, you guys are SO way in over your heads. a game engine is a suite of code, that's all. kojima and his programmers worked with ps3 to get the best possible results. the same thing that EVERY dev does when they build a game, it's just part of the process.
the engine they build for MGS Rising is g...
next xbox in 2011. don't bullsh*t around, ps3's 10 year plan is going to be cut down with them trying to compete with the next xbox, which will be more powerful and force sony to either lose another year (and lose install base to micrsoft's new hardware) or get out the ps4 by 2012 and just cash in on 4 years of ps3 prime time, since ps2's stellar showing continued to go into ps3's first year and launching at $600 hindered initial sales.
microsoft's keeping sony on the short leash...
overmaxed?
you don't know what you're talking about lol. every developer builds their game engine up to its best for the next release of a game. those engines go through minor tweaks and revisions.
look at the assassin's creed series, the BEST example right now.
here's a few screens of the first game

ff8 was just different. and it surely wasn't bad at all, although they were trying to give us this drama teen-angsty cheesy romance story. imho, there's nothing wrong with that. it certainly had its great moments, and to me will always be my favorite. it had overcrushed ff7's claim to graphical fame and had huge environments. midgar from ff7 was that games's biggest area, most towns in ff8 average about 3/4 its size. esthar was BIG. and who could forget the ragnarok (which is why i love playi...

life's nice in a can, huh!
too much there man. and i don't want to see any of it getting posted on youtube anytime soon, okay?
and that goes for all you other guys who have sticky playboy mags laying around.
it'll probably be be around 4. the very respectable rpg Lost Odyssey was the same, packed some insanely detailed FMVs, great voice acting (in 5 selectable languages) and it was a LENGTHY quest with plenty of side quests.
Blue Dragon was 3 discs. Hell, Eternal Sonata, Enchanted Arms, and a few others were single disc games. And they STILL had dual audio!
also the audio in Eternal Sonata is in 5.1
i don't see the 5.1 logo on LO or BD but they should be, ho...
you sony only guys are taking this way outta proportion. they said definite racing game this gen...
...but NONE of you are quick to defend any other racer out there. it doesn't bother you that the list includes MANY titles. if this were about Grid, you'd just blow it off.
no, you guys just want to put GT as THE ONLY game that turn 10 is inferring. i can see how it's between EXCLUSIVE racers, but you guys are way too serious over this whole thing. turn 10 never called...
from a person with willey nelson or something's face as an avatar. burt reynolds is SO way beyond that.
he shuns the gillete's my friends. (here it comes....) so no razor!
hahahahahahahahaha! lolz
gt HAD it. forza HAS it. nuf said.
in real life people die. so the next evolution will be that if you die in game, you die in real life right?
it's just a game. barking orders shouldn't be a hassle. game play should be tight. not all "combat sim". next we're gonna get lightguns that occasionally jam too, right?
GAMES should be FUN.
racing sim?
please. polyfony was good for its time. the torch has been passed, they tripped when it took them years to build 1 friggin game. Forza 3 already approaches everything you think GT is and it didn't take 5 years and 2 prologues of this console gen to do it.
turn 10's been blowing synthetic oil all over polyfony and it's kid's driving sim since GT's 2 cylinder engine started coughing up from its screwed up old a$$ weak "float needle" wannabe gamepl...
they're both $60 games. and you'll find $250,000 cars in both. i dunno where you got that from.
grid had it in 2007. actually, i think forza 2 had that camera view as well. i don't have the game, i'm waiting on 3.
also why do people have to bring a psp game into the mix? if that's the case why don't we bring in mario kart racing on the ds!
and why do people have to highlight how many more cars there onscreen? 16 cars is fantastic to hear, but grid had that too (le mans 24 hour races, you just wouldn't actually get to race with them since they were WAY ahead). ...
why the importance of having so many persistent characters logged in?
it's a great feat if they could make it practical, but teams should be small and tight. ONE better player can easily make up for 5 other players. also try communicating between 50 guys named x234234543 x23r23r2 x3r23r4tr x233453 and x34534432???
giving orders would be a disaster. it's more like a free for all at that point. it's a concept that's got balls, i'll give it that. they probably have it a...
psp go will be good for games, but for everything else it just isn't competitive. it does a lot, but it's not a phone, so people will still buy an iPhone. and sony's service for music downloads (sonic stage/sony connect i think it was called) was a clunky failure compared to iTunes and Zune Marketplace, so people will still buy iPod Touch and Zune. the ONLY thing sony can market the go for would be games. and that's only gonna make it compete with nintendo's DS lite/DSi.
