wow, i though i was the only one who skipped the 128bit era.

yep...i never owned a PS2 or Xbox. my bro owned a GameCube though and my friends all had DreamCast. i'm not ignorant though, i played a few of the good games.

PC gaming is unforgiving. Let's say two people each build themselves a $1000 PC with a good mix of parts and configuration, but one is getting half the framerate of the other in the same game.

Let's say that I buy an i7 920 (keeping $1000 as the total for both systems) and only have enough money left over for a 4850. The other guy went cheaper and stuck with a phenom II x4 940 and had enough for a 4890. Now you see why PC gaming is so uneven. Because although we spent the same to...

Vista got a bad rep because of sore customers who bought "Vista Capable" PCs and were too turned off with the plain Home Basic edition of Vista that they upgraded to Home Premium and tried to run Aero, which is a "Premium Ready" feature. So it's not Microsoft's fault that their PCs were underpowered. Microsoft did their job, the Vista architecture is new, stable, secure, and awesome. You have to expect that this comes with a need to upgrade. And if you don't need flashy GU...

i've had my dv9535nr for two years, no problems. but yes i was terrified to read all the horror stories.

my advice to those who are worried, grab the service manual for your laptop and tear it down to the motherboard. pull off the heatpipe assembly and just add some good old artic silver heat compound. my gpu had NONE, it was getting pretty warm (70c). and then after i did that it shaved off a cool 10c on full load (60c load, 40c idle).

the same goes for just about a...

well, why not? it's Epic's game and Epic's engine.

personally i don't need to see another Gears this gen. i like what i've played so far and i think they should work on Unreal. or maybe something new altogether.

intelligent and crafty programmers would often hide things according to algorithms in their code.

he's lucky that he only had to tear through a 64k RAM pool, it would be near impossible to solve an algorithm based easter egg in any of today's games :O just think of the variables involved with how big the games are today!

The Darkness: getting those awesome powers. his girlfriend's death. being tortured with a drill in the face...man that game was SICK!

Prey: being sucked up by the proverbial beam of light...and then seeing the hell of life (or death) on The Sphere. survival horror in space, this game makes you FEEL not just alone but F*CKED! everything's foreign, industrial, and non human-friendly.

Bioshock: the 50's theme is what got me the most. do you guys watch any of those b&...

yeah but it won't be the big blockbuster games, since they require huge files.

plus these games will already be taxing your network connection as it is with having to stream assets on the fly, so how will they perform once you have to send even more data while gaming against other players?

they'll probably be arcade games (like Kongregate), but it really eliminates the purpose of having a hard drive.

imho, just login to Kongregate it's pretty happening o...

by "Splinter Cell" he can also mean the novels, okay? and by "Splinter Cell novels" he can also mean the whole spy/espionage genre, which has been going on since 007 and the like.

did we learn nothing from Schindler's List?

imho the situation with Jewish people in Hollywood is just as well the boomerang that is Japan: they suffered the greatest atrocities during WWII and were able to get back on their feet and bring back honor to their people.

It's true, the hardcore exclusives only appeal to the hardcore gamer. If they bundle it with a console then at least it will sell even if the owner doesn't want to play it.

BTW, the Halo 3 bundle didn't actually come with the game. Which is GREAT, since it proves that all of its sales were from people who went out and bought the game.

UK is one of those 3, so they are included. the commerce and economy that they constitute places them that much higher on the scale of things too. that's why their money is worth more. when your economy and currency are that highly productive and valuable (respectively) you are basically that much higher and more important to the world.

Um, the game is being compared with GT because Polyfony has been tripping with its releases. 2 Forza MS games will have passed you PS3 fanboys by while we play the True Definitive Racing game of this gen! PS3 gets its shoes untied when Polyfony tries to run something this well detailed, so that's why it's been taking so long. They've survived off bullet shots and tech demos but GT5 will fall WAY short of your expectations.

If the truth has hurt you in any way forward all compla...

wasn't it the original GT or was it GT 2 that was on 2 discs? i believe you had to put in a disc to do career mode or something, i'm fuzzy on it since it's been so long.

edit: la chance, i didn't mean for it to sound insulting, i'm just saying that having multiple discs doesn't hinder a game in any way, it's just fanboy opinion. here's a bubble!

US and EU make up 4 of the 5 world powers, with 3 of them in the EU. Los Angeles alone is the 5th largest world economy.

so yes. they ARE the world.

Forza MS 3 is shaping up to be one hot date this October. It's gonna be hard to play GT5 after that, Forza just has way too much this time around. And I don't care that it has half the roster of GT5, it has environments to die for and the BEST online community features of any racer this gen.

well that's a great compliment.

GT 4 has old cars though, Forza 3 will have all the latest models. so isn't it time to trade up that old bucket? :)

whoa...this game is looking SWEET!

edit: yeah you got about 1/8ths of the wheel showing, lol. but that's how my 2006 Spectra 5 looks, everything's low and deep. of course, mine's a 5 door hatchback.

Well, over there they have generally a different lifestyle then us Lazyboy couch potatoes. They have faster more sophisticated wireless networks and they have a plethory of devices that are ripe for such an environment. So it's only natural that over there portable devices would be doing so well.

edit:

snuka, PS3 has to sell in America and Europe in order for Sony to really make money as the yen is almost equivalent to our US 1 cent, and about half that in britti...

FF8 started it all, I guess. I dunno, I just a lot of that particular FF's style being carried over in FF X, X-2, and the FF VII games. I see that they took Cloud and gave him Squall's persona in Advent Children, lol.

I hate to say it, but Cloud had more life in FF VII than in Advent! All those flashy moves don't prove a thing when you're moping around for 3/4s the movie! At least in FF VII there was some exploring and leveling up to do!
