*As far as game franchises that have lived on too long, Metal Gear Solid would know a little about that. So would Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Grand Theft Auto, Gran Turismo, Tomb Raider, Prince of Persia and Castlevania. Your criticism should extend further than Xbox as there are examples on Sony's own consoles. I mean look at how many of those titles I mentioned above harken back to the original PlayStation...

Heavy Rain? They have atmosphere and animation but the graphics I wouldn't say would be where it shines. Maybe some of the environments, I like how they try to come as close to a complete world as they can.
Again though, the texture work is going to be thinned out as they have to work with quite a bit. I guess on the scale of it Heavy Rain's graphics do impress, but they're about as good as they can be given how huge the environments are.

Natal actually does quite a bit more than what Sony came up with last gen. And um...Eye Toy wasn't exactly the first webcam on the market.

These are what Natal was built for.
Insults can't stop the 7 fever. Mac is desperate...I mean they might have to do something really new at this point. Like being original and not just trying to hate on PC.
I like Apple products and their software is always well rated, but their business strategy is horrid. They make their small piece of the pie by insulting you and me for liking Windows.

Here's a few things to consider about sticking with XP.
-it's been through HELL. seriously, probably more than 99% of all known viruses have successfully infected windows xp based computers because it's been out long enough for various exploits and security issues to be found/developed by malware authors. it's a great OS but because of the volume of XP users out there it'll always be the target environment for viruses.
-it lacks support for a lot of new standards. do...

Uncharted 2 is okay on its own, but fails to achieve any real significant improvements. It's still a 3rdPS Tomb Raider clone with a cover system borrowed from Gears of War.
Seriously, I challenge anyone to list $60 worth of innovations that Uncharted or Uncharted 2 brings NEW to this gen. It's great at what it does, but what does it do NEW?

Well if it's trying to BE the next Mass Effect then it's already going to fail.
To succeed a game must have its own unique identity, not just an imitation.

I don't think Uncharted 2 will be all that difficult to beat visually, it's not all that great honestly. On its own it's a pretty game...stacked against other games this gen it doesn't achieve anything that hasn't already been done. It's fun, I'll give it that.
UC2 can have GotY this year but it'll be a short lived victory...2010 already sees some uprisings for the graphics throne.
