@Ravenor, the fact that we as gamers have swallowed that BS excuse and not challenged it in courts is ludicrous.
Imagine buying a blu ray and having to pay to access the special features on the disc, or buying a car and having to pay extra to use the rear seats or cup holders...when did we all just accept that we don't own what we buy?
I age myself here, but back in the old days we owned the cassettes, disks and cartridges we bought...they were complete products and they w...
But they are not the only thing on tap, and never have been. In short, what he's flapping his gums about is entirely pointless and meaningless.
What absolute crap. He talks about it being a problem if there are only violent games...that's never, and will never happen, the industry has never been that narrowly focused.
Against the spirit of gaming...what twaddle. He's making an FPS, shooting enemies is violence, no matter the reason, it's the whole point of the genre. He's either a hypocrite or an idiot.
What a phenomenally stupid headline. Yes, they're closing stores now, so that confirms a console releasing in 2013 at the earliest won't play second-hand games. That's quite the logical leap they've taken. So still popular formats like the 360, PS3, Wii...then the Wii U and probably PS4 used sales wouldn't be enough to keep them afloat? Idiocy. The closures are due to increased competition from online sales and supermarkets undercutting their prices combined with a ge...
*ignore, double post.
I don't think it's terribly smart for EA to do this as I really think they're costing themselves customers in doing it. There are people who are dead against Origin due to it's perceived spyware nature - fairly or not - and they will pirate the game purely out of spite.
If they made it an Origin exclusive for a month, and offered some free add-ons if you purchase through that system and then released it on Steam they'd get more sales. If future DLC was available ...
Forget crowd reaction, make the weapon contacts sound better...they sound terrible as is, even the kendo stick sounds like crap now, and it used to sound spot on.
This made my day. No matter how pissed off I get, I can know there are people this sad and pathetic out there and smile.
This is truly epic levels of sadness, I'm not sure just how it can get worse.
There was nothing more satisfying than playing Black Ops at a low level with my sister and making some asshole who took it all so seriously quit the game because I somehow managed to kill him.
Since I've had this patch I've had instances of textures not loading properly which hadn't happened before.
I've had a dragon and statues that had zero textures and were baby-blue coloured, I've had people with robes that had some detail on, but were very smooth and shiny looking rather than looking like cloth, and I've had people with luminous yellow clothing items on various parts of their body in the Theives Guild base - from gloves, to full chest armour. <...
What pointless whining about nothing, it's a completely optional service. How dare Gamestop try to make some money via e-mail advertising, they are truly the devil!
Not everyone who's bought the game will love it as much as some do, perhaps some people took a chance on it and just don't like it, perhaps some were put off by the glitches and can't be bothered waiting for patches, perhaps some got it as an unwanted gift.
People need to get a little perspective a...
Ahh PETA, kill more animals than they save every year and yet still preach morality from their soap box while one of their high ranking members continues to use insulin derived from animal research.
Hypocritical, violence advocating, borderline terrorists and thieves. Stealing gullible, self-rightous people's money for years.
Loved that video, eleventy billion out of 10!!!!
Unfortunately it seems that a large proportion of people who take part in a hobby I've loved for 20 + years are absolute cretins.
Perspective and maturity are alien concepts, now it's just an endless stream of arguing about review scores to the point that, frankly, I'm not sure how they have the time to play these games that they love sooo much that 8/10 is considered a mediocre score.
Never, ever go...
Gotta love the PC guys crying over Carmack selling out by focusing on consoles.
You want to know why he and Cryteck have done this, because those glorious PC gamers that he's supposedly got to be soooo loyal to, pirate games in record numbers, far more than console users do. And I say this as someone who just recently got into PC gaming after years of console gaming. I don't blame the guy for focusing on the market that's FAR less likely to steal his game.
I must have been very lucky as I made it all the way through this game with no serious glitches at all, only a couple of minor graphical glitches like Infected occasionally phasing through a wall and an instance of a zombie being frozen in position after being hit.
It's a shame that the game wasn't more polished though, it was a damn fun time.
So did she, she did an LP of it. This is an introductory video, jumping in and claiming she's a snob before hearing what she has to say is both stupid and ignorant. She hasn't written them off as shit at all, watch the follow up videos when they come out and get ready to eat some crow.
For the record, the original games ARE better than the western developed titles which devolved into fan service with little meaning and weak stories. Shattered Memories is probably the best o...
I personally think his response was nicely restrained. He thanked the forum members who offered constructive feedback and told the people whining about getting free access to the beta - which didn't need to be made open at all let's not forget - to grow up.
If that's the worst that someone is ever told on the internet they can count themselves very lucky. And you can say it makes him seem unprofessional until the cows come home, he's a human being taking time out fro...
It's ridiculous how expensive digital download versions of games are...they should be far cheaper due to lower overheads and the fact that a store doesn't get a cut of the money.
Anyone who actually pays those prices for games they could get FAR cheaper online or instore should get a smack, they clearly hate other gamers and have far more money than sense.
If that ever does happen, my days as a gamer will come to an end.
I don't see it happening however, it would alienate too large a number of gamers for the publishers to even consider. Online multiplayer is OK, but if that's all there was, just imagine how little fun gaming would become as you had no choice but to put up with a bunch of arseholes spoiling games and being abusive little shits.
Well this is just insulting. It's so transparantly crass, this is how dumb and immature that companies think gamers are and judging by most of the comments above, they're right to think that way.
Dear fucking God people, show a little dignity for yourselves and your hobby, this is pathetic.
@Ravenor, just like we don't technically own the movie we get on a DVD or blu ray...but you don't see them ripping off their customers by making them pay for special features that are already on the disc.
You get a licence to use the data on the disc? Ummm, isn't the "DLC" data on the disc...hence the licence should surely cover that?
