People would be more inclined to give it a chance if they weren't pulling that old trick of ensuring there's no reviews available until the launch day has come and gone.
It's a lot of money to waste on a potential dud, and if the publisher are doing whatever they can to ensure that the paying public aren't informed about the game, that sets off warning signs in countless gamers who have no doubt been burned before.
There's so much competition in the FPS mar...
Why don't you just wait for reviews to come in before buying? There's no way you should be caught out in this day and age. If they don't want any reviews before release day, then they clearly don't feel confident in the game...don't reward companies who pull that trick by giving them your money.
No review, no sale. Find a site or reviewer you trust and stick with them.
I know you're exaggerating in order to make a joke, but there's more than 5 "hardcore" games available at launch with more to come afterwards.
Also, this insistance on labelling games as "hardcore" or "casual" is really stupid. For a start...define "hardcore" for me. I've seen so many people define it so many different ways it's simply a meaningless term. Does it just mean "not popular" nowadays? Because I&...
I fail to see the problem...countless gamers are buying hugely expensive Turtle Beach headsets and throat mics and all that other guff when a standard headset works perfectly fine.
Suddenly because Nintendo require you to purchase a headset, it's an awful crime? People did it no problem for the 360 and PS3 - and it really is the easiest and best solution in terms of sound quality etc - why is it suddenly a problem now?
I'm with you, I rarely use it either....too distracting when I'm trying to focus on the game. People are looking for any reason to whine about the Wii U it seems, I have no idea why. Doesn't do what you want? Fine, then don't buy the thing. Don't sit looking for every little thing to nitpick the console or service offered to death.
Fact is, no-one knows how good or bad their service is until Nintendo release the damn thing, so why not wait and see rather than p...
Ha ha...no, just no. It may be better than dreck like Gun Survivor, but that ain't saying much. It's worse than all the other mainline games, particularly 1, 2, 3, 4, Code Veronica, the Gamecube remake and Zero.
It may have a ton of content, but that only proves that it is indeed possible to cram 10 gallons of crap in a 5 gallon bag.
Arkham City is a port, AC3 was developed side by side with the other versions.
If reports are to be believed, the ad showed after the contract was expired. He was no longer bound by those terms, and even if it were written into his contract in some way that he's not allowed to advertise other gaming products in the future, that could be challenged in court as it may place an unfair restriction on the man's livelihood.
Doesn't matter when it's filmed, it only matters when it's actually shown. Sony are effectively trying to own his f...
People need mobile phones and occasionally download some free puff game like Angry Birds or some puzzle title...doesn't really make them gamers or their phone a gaming platform.
It's a TYPE of gaming, and one that is popular, but I really don't think that mobile gaming of that type has ever taken a sale from a dedicated console.
People have been arguing the death of handhelds like the 3DS for years and years since smartphone gaming broke onto the ...
Popular is not the same as mainstream. Gaming is more mainstream than it's ever been, but it's still not accepted by most. The image of games as for kids or basement dwelling nerds is still, unfortunately prevalent and there's a long way to go until gaming is fully embraced by the mainstream.
How many gaming shows are there on major networks? Gaming almost never makes the news unless it's being linked to a crime.
Looking forward to getting my hands on this one. Survival horror at last...it's been a while. It's not Resident Evil style, but it still looks damn good.
Cool story...no wait, that other thing...tedious! Yeah, tedious and pointless story.
The failure thing is a fact, talking about the quality of games is not fact...it's opinion.
COUGH flame bait article COUGH!
@Matgrowcott,
The second his contract was up, he was free to work wherever he pleases. That he is recognized as Kevin Butler is no consequence, that is a character he played, he is not that character for the rest of his life.
By your logic, Hugh Laurie is now unable to act again because he's firmly recognised as Gregory House and that hurts the owners of the House brand despite him now being out of contract. It's nonsense, absolute nonsense. He is an actor...
Of course he's in the older ones...they can't bloody time travel to remove all trace of him from games made BEFORE he killed his family, now can they?
Don't be so stupid...if you're THAT desperate to play as a guy who murdered his wife and child - brain damaged or not - then create him yourself.
The WWE can never feature that guy again or they will be slammed for making money off the back of a murderer by the national media. It's not going to happen, and he's not going to be featured on their programming either for the same reason. He's a killer, end of story.
So, most of the ones they wanted in there are actually going to be in there as DLC. Guys like Steve Blackman, Goldust, Val Venis, Ryback, and Terry Funk (as Chainsaw Charlie) are all coming via DLC.
The Headbangers is a decent choice, Tyson Kidd too, but Luna Vachone wasn't a huge part of the Attitude era, and Chyna's issues with Vince McMahon and her current career in hardcore porn have killed any chance of her appearing.
Taka would have been cool as part of Kaientai...
It's not about Resident Evil 6 specifically....the murder occurred in May, they just mentioned "Resident Evil".
And again, no-one was really blaming the game, just the killers used that name to describe the aftermath of what they'd done.
I think games companies are starting to realise that there's not much further they can push graphics and resolution and the like before it starts getting really cost prohibitive to consumers and developers.
If the rumours about the next Xbox turn out to be true - eg augmented reality approach - then the big companies seem to have realised this and are looking towards different experiences rather than POWER POWER POWER. That will still be a factor of course, but not the focus IMO....
