Netflix's price increase is due to increasing cost of content not caused by Comcast. If anything the deal between the companies is mutually beneficial now that Comcast owns NBC Universal.
Netflix carries a ton of NBCU content which benefits Comcast by increasing viewership on linear channels (which in turn drives as revenue). Comcast has a massive subscriber base of internet customers that are potential Netflix customers...

Surprisingly detailed list! Overheard conversation from a future trivia night: So how did you know "Cream" was the most recurring rabbit in games?
Many of the points the author makes are non-issues. Ports to different consoles have existed since the Atari era...
I was extremely disappointed by The Getaway. Loved that they mapped London and for PS2 the graphics were solid but the poor controls and health system ruined the game for me.
This same article got posted a few weeks ago...
Totally understand where the author is coming from; his analogy to movie sequels is compelling too after personally being disappointed by those same movies.
That being said, I would still love an opportunity to play these games despite knowing the fantasy might be better than the reality.
Aside from some of the obvious issues with the article...
1. Author is not discouraging day one purchases but condemns pre-orders. Even when there is a bonus available...
2. Doesn't address the real pre-order problem which is full retail price dropping shortly after release
April Fool's?
I'll toss one in the mix... Fear Effect: Inferno
The only joke here is the author's ability to craft one.
No... this has been going on since the inception of home consoles. Arcade ports, variance in graphics between consoles (quite a few in the 8-bit/16-bit era) and what is happening here is no different.
Clicked the article... saw Playstation 4... left the article. Don't vote this flame war crap up, please.
I'd love to hear comments from the 'disagree' person on here! Fan of the game or not business basics are a reality.
Business wins are measured financially. Without sales stats this article feels premature.
Ha! If you're going to hate on Salesforce, Chatter would be the thing I bring up too.
Maybe.
I'm a Salesforce guy so I'm fully aware how powerful cloud can be. Sony's Playstation Now makes me think Microsoft was not totally blowing smoke... we'll see!
I'm tired of first person shooters! They literally have no appeal to me anymore. I also lost interest in online gaming because it was always a crappy experience.
I want single player, unique experiences out of my games these days.
Interesting. I do see this as Sony focusing on their strengths. Boyes has done a nice job highlighting bad industry practice in a tongue-in-cheek way.
The "game sharing" video from last year and this picture are excellent ways of educating the community on how Sony differs in their platform.
Oh no! The guys developing the bullet point console are going to be pissed.
What one person deems unnecessary is probably fun for some else. I enjoy trophies and achievements but there are ones I'll never obtain and I'm okay with that.
A quick comment though on the developer's point-of-view... it's worth noting that these are required features so from a development perspective there isn't a choice. If a development house/publisher can use them to create additional sales then they probably care otherwise it's just a bi-product ...
