This list is a little too safe, all being AAA titles. I'd like to see some sleeper hits remastered.
Sorry! I meant 'Enter the Matrix'. I never played the follow-up.
The Matrix: Path of Neo.
Horrible. Just horrible.
These proposals all sound like good ideas. This is reasonably well thought-out.
Bayonetta 2 on Wii U, perhaps? Sega owns the IP so they might be assisting Platinum Games with development.
Sony is aware that 'The Last Guardian' has legs so an announcement would be appropriate!
Questionably legal? No.
Nintendo let its patents on the original NES expire without renewal many years ago.
That's why the aftermarket consoles became a mainstream item and not just sold at flea markets.
Whether this is a good business move or not will really be determined by how the game is received. I'd be curious to know the pre-order statistics.
Look on the bright side...
1. It's free!
2. This is more than a demo would typically offer so you can try before you buy (or not buy).
3. Sony didnt have to offer any free edition. This could have followed a traditional release cycle.
Honestly, I've played paid games that once the credits start to roll, I'm thinking "that's it?"
Thanks for sharing the chart, it was a helpful comparison.
I'm rooting for Nintendo! I'd really like to see them make a splash at E3 with a killer lineup of games including some new IPs.
Yes, yes PC versions are often superior than the console counterparts if you have good hardware.
Don't jump to conclusions, though. New ported versions often get new bug fixes, new textures and sometimes new content.
@AnotherProGamer
The raptor sounds match the movie to a tee. They sounded a little odd in the movie though too.
The definition of open-world games hasn't changed. Lets not confuse 3D environment with open-world. Examples are Grand Theft Auto, Elder Scrolls and Fallout.
The examples I've mentioned do not allow you to play the world map accessibly like say Watch Dogs.
MGS V - Play missions in a limited environment, finish mission, load new environment where you can't go back to the previous area.
Destiny - An FPS that follows the same limite...
Can't wait to see where they take the series!
Nintendo needs to step up, whether that's a change in leadership or something else is fine. Try some marketing!
Start by creating a spot that recaptures the nostalgia of your product:
Upbeat instrumental music
Voice over narration
"30 years ago, they captured your hearts"
1985 appears on screen underneath a family and kids playing SMB on the NES, kids laughing and playing
"They've been an instrumental par...
Fun list but many of these are not open-world games, for example:
MGS V
Destiny
Mad Max
The Crew (maybe)
These ported versions are targeted at audiences that have not played the game before. If you have, you're not the market audience. It's very existence does not prohibit you from playing something else!
Lots of folks are getting so fired up about console ports, it's been happening since the Atari era.
Not every price drop has to be in $50 increments. Sony could drop to $379.99 or MS could drop to $439.99.
@Prime157
Seconded. I'm 31 and over the past few years I've been seeking more unique gaming experiences.
