@Blackleg-sanji
Your argument is irrevelant. SE owns the IP and whether the translation sparked them to localize or not doesn't matter.
Square Enix is not in the wrong here. They have an obligation to protect their copyright. I've been seeing this happen for 15 years!
Fan translations should seek permission before you launch a public project or risk being shut down.
Are people afraid to post in support of Square Enix? Let me be the one then...
1. The fans didn't obtain permission to release this translation.
2. They don't own the intellectual property.
3. Square Enix is legally obligated by copyright law to actively pursue claims or they forfeit that right.
4. Square Enix is releasing this game remastered on PS4 and Xbox One.
I've enjoyed many fan translations over the years but no one...
I read another article that said Naughty Dog was frustrated with their options to show off 60 FPS with available streaming services because they down sample the frames...
expect something is coming but I'm sure ND probably wants to be careful about having a disappointing trailer that could kill their hype.
I hadn't seen that trailer before, thanks for sharing.
Cash grabs? No.
Billing them as remastered is marketing. Lest we not forget in 1990 they would have been called ports... this is not a new trend.
This will happen incrimentally but im not sure well ever be 100% cloud.
The next logical step is to drive digital adoption (local storage, no physical product). According to some major publishers digital sales are small compared to retail.
Once you get the digital adoption up expect a hybrid local storage cloud model. This will be streamlined key information to be processed locally and stream the remaining assets.
In the end, it's really ...
I enjoy and own both games! But lets not pretend for a second that Sleeping Dogs is better than GTA V...
Has anyone contacted either Sony customer service or HQ? It seems like I'm reading lots of speculation...
Funny enough, at 31 I'm finding that I seek the unique and quirky games more and more! To me Nintendo is a beacon of hope where so many other companies forget fun trumps everything.
Call of Duty annual? Been there.
Assassin's Creed 12? Done that.
Super Mario you-name-it? Reimagined once again!
Development hell? Maybe... but E3 didnt indicate that to me. Square Enix doesn't gain a lot by showing another trailer for FFXV without a release window.
They're likely holding back a second trailer so they can plan a marketing strategy and timing to capitalize on pre-orders.
I've wanted a Wii U for a while! Some of the showcased games look like a lot of fun: Yoshi, Toad, both Zelda titles, Xenoblade Chronicles X.
@rocky619619
I remember the segment that led into Project Morpheus but I didn't think of Microsoft. I suppose that could be a jab... I'm not sensitive to these things but the 2013 press con was full of 'em!
Jabs at Microsoft? I honestly don't remember any...
You shouldn't supply facts provided by Sony's CEO in response to a rumor and link it to yet another unverified rumor.
Doing so muddies up what is otherwise a great piece of news.
The term "future" is vague and does not explicitly mean Sony wont show it at their press conference. Great to see its still in production but lets not assume future means distant future!
Agreed! Choose games over branding...
I'm discouraged that so many disagree with that sentiment.
My ask from devs in the FPS/resolution department is to find the right balance to support a consistent gameplay experience.
Specs are fun but gameplay is king!
I'm not crazy about digital. Unless its my only option, I purchase the physical product.
As much as I hate to admit it, people need to realize fan translations aren't a right granted to the gaming community.
Request permission or risk being shut down.
