Why not just play with the Wii U tablet controller and be done with it? Clusterfuck avoided, for the most part.

I mean, there's nothing the Pro Controller can do that the tablet can't, after all. I see the Pro Controller more as a option for local multiplayer (for which you obviously don't need a headset).

You make a pretty good point, but as you said, it's rated E for everyone. It's cartoonish. There's absolutely no way to defend PETA on this, next thing you know they will be campaigning against animal abuse on raccoons because Mario uses a Raccoon Suit... oh wait.

Why couldn't you get a response? YOU'RE WRONG. THIS IS ME RESPONDING TO YOU.

HA! *points and laugh*

It's still a ridiculous point to make. As you said in your closing statement, most videogames have violence after all.

"Are you telling me it's BAD to kill people with an AK-47???? Say it ain't so!"

No shit, sherlock! That's why they're videogames and not real life. :P

“Nintendo and The Pokémon Company take the inappropriate use of our products and intellectual property seriously.”

That was Nintendo's statement regarding what PETA did.

Oh God, PETA is in deep shit now. This will be fun to watch.

@cee773

What's your point? Nothing about what you said actually contradicts what I said. I didn't state that Sony's past consoles were the weakest of their respective gens, I stated they weren't the top dog when it comes to hardware until the PS3. Big difference.

And if you look at my post, I stated that the PS1 did in fact have some clear advantages over the N64 thanks to the CD format. By that I meant, yes, bigger games and superior sound an...

Here you have it, folks. Masahiro Sakurai, one of Nintendo's most prominent figures, is a confessed Playstation fan, one that, going by the article, immensely enjoys playing PS1, PS2 and PS3 games. And one that feels incredibly sad because he lost all that data for his PS3 HDD dying.

So, tell me. If such a important Nintendo figure can publicly aknowledge that he loves and enjoys something else besides Nintendo, what excuse do we have, as gamers, to keep on with these stu...

I take it you're implying Sony and Microsoft are notorious for pumping out great hardware? By great, you mean "powerful"?

Because that wasn't the case with Sony at all, until the PS3. The PS1 was weaker than the N64 (although it had some clear advantages thanks to it using CDs instead of cartridges), and the PS2 was weaker than the GameCube.

Just something I found worth noting. I expect the next consoles from Sony and Microsoft to be more p...

Of course you would say that.

But the truth is, the article isn't good, nor well written. They didn't do their research. they state the Wii U's gamepad will have a battery life of 80 hours, which isn't true at all, because that is the Pro Controller's battery life, not the GamePad's one.

The other two points are about social gaming and the interactive TV, two features that sound good on paper, but the Wii U hasn't released yet, so ...

Well, this sounds like they would be straight up ports, without any upgrades of any kind, just like virtual console games for the Wii.

If that's the case, I hope Nintendo at least consider to make a few HD releases, like Sony did with some PS2 games for the PS3. I would love to see a Wind Waker Wii U edition with full HD graphics, widescreen, and gamepad features (using it for maps and inventory, as well as making it double for a Tingle Tuner, it's a no brainer).

I have PS3 and Xbox 360, and I'm still excited for the Wii U.

Methinks you're wrong. :P

You do know that Sony was the company that published the most high quality games this console generation, right? Even more than Nintendo, which is saying something.

And I'm a big Nintendo fan, but I believe in giving credit where credit is due. I think you're giving Sony a pretty big disservice here.

Yes, they haven't been in the business 30 years like Ninty. But they've been in it 15-16 years, which doesn't make them exactly newcomers, ei...

While I agree with your point completely, I just wanted to say that the Just Dance games aren't really shovelware. For parties, they are a blast, actually.

Now, Ninjabread Man, Party Babiez, Rapala Fishing, etc... THOSE are shovelware games. :P

Uh... big deal? As far as I know, the majority of Wii U games don't support the "playing only on the gamepad screen" feature. That is a option that game developers are free to pursue or not, according to their interests.

That doesn't mean Epick Mickey 2 won't use the GamePad screen at all, which the article of the title suggests at first glance. Very misleading.

Dude, but the 1080p at 60fps only serve to 1080p at 60fps, because 1080p at 60fps just isn't enough to 1080p at 60fps.

Oh, and another thing: 1080p at 60fps. 1080P AT 60FPS!!!!

Peace, 1080p. At 60fps. Bro.

"It is just an HD mario".

SOLD. Regardless of resolution, it still will be a bloody lot of fun. Heck, New Super Mario Bros 2 is a blast to play, despite it being the lowest rated New Super Mario Bros game to date.

"For 300+ dollars I'd rather invest in a console that has already set itself up in the market and already has a vaster amount of titles."

You could've employed the same exact argument when the PS3 / Xbox 360 came out, you know.

"$600 for a PS3? For that money I can buy a PS2 and about 10 games".

At least with the Wii U the price difference with current consoles isn't actually that big, and a big part of it is b...

The Gamecube was a monster of a console, actually. And Nintendo has offered plenty of core gaming experiences with the Wii this generation, but the problem is that the Wii had pretty lackluster third party support.
