Guys:

Cover mechanics. From a third person shooting game released in 1999.
So, tell me. What's this discussion really about? What does Uncharted and Gears have in common, besides both being third person shooters with cover mechanics?
Nothing. They're as different as two games can be being in the same genre.

You're aware that the clunky combat is intentional, right? This isn't meant to play like Call of Duty.
"Nintendo offers more Exclusive content than Sony and Microsoft combined."
That's a bit of an hyperbole. Sony is actually the company that offered the most exclusive content on this generation of consoles, even more than Nintendo themselves, and most of said exclusive content range from good to superb.
It's Microsoft who's really lacking at exclusives at the moment. Sony and Nintendo are both pretty good in that regard.
You made me laugh with the hamster mental image. XD
No, it won't. It may not get the same third party support as the other next gen consoles (or it may, we still don't know), but it won't die. No Nintendo console has died in the market, ever, with the sole exception of the Virtual Boy about 17 years ago.
As a big Nintendo fan, you embarrass me. If weak hardware excites you that much, go play an Atari 2600.
I WRITE IN CAPS LOCK TO MAKE MY ARGUMENTS MORE IMPORTANT.
"Core gamers in the know", as you call them, would be aware that the Wii had a fuckton of core games: Sin & Punishment, Little King's Story, Mario Galaxy , Super Mario Galaxy 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Metroid: Other M, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, No More Heroes 1 & 2, MadWorld, Sonic Colors, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (and Metroid Prime Trilogy), Mario Kart Wii, Smash Bros Brawl, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story, Zelda Twilight Princess, Z...
Really? Seeing the comments section of pretty much any console article posted on N4G, I'd say console wars never went away. And they never will, unless game consoles cease to exist altogether.
Uh. Wii Mini is going to be even cheaper than a regular Wii. Where do you think the lower price factor comes from?
If you want a Wii with Wifi, and Gamecube games, then go buy a Wii that can do that.
"It's the Nintendo-made games that will ultimately sell the console, claims Pachter: "I think that Nintendo needs more exclusives to differentiate the Wii U, and am pessimistic that they will be able to deliver them next year.""
Why are you pessimistic? Give reasons to back up your opinions, Pachter. Otherwise, they're just worthless babble.
Dude, you don't need capslock to make your point. At all. Ugh.
The North American market is the biggest? I thought that was Japan. Not sure about that one, though.
You're aware that Black Friday isn't as big in the rest of the world as it is in the United States, right? I don't live there.
Although you're right, it's probably the biggest shopping season in the States.
Good points, but those heavy Nintendo games you talking about? I think Nintendo is holding them back precisely for when Microsoft and Sony announce their next consoles. :P
The gamepad is superb, the online structure in Wii U is amazing, and a definite setp-up from Live and PSN in many ways. Regarding the hardware, your guess is as good as mine ATM.
"Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has some sharp words for Microsoft and Sony: you react to us, not the other way around."
Nice spin, but that's not what he said. He merely said that Sony and Microsoft need to react to Nintendo's own Wii U console, and that's true. They never said Nintendo doesn't react to Sony and Microsoft, because that would be a stupid statement to make, considering Wii U now has a online community, user ID's, H...
Well, graphics were important for Nintendo in the NES, SNES, N64 and Gamecube days. They just changed perspective with the Wii, and regarding the Wii U it's still too soon to judge properly.
But yeah, Nintendo actually cared a lot about graphics back in the day. :P
Funny. Just this morning, I wrote something very similar on an article from another website. Here goes the copy/paste:
""The DS will fail, the PSP will destroy it" > 152 million DS sales worldwide.
"Wii is gonna fail, PS3 and Xbox 360 will destroy it" > 97 million Wii sales worldwide.
"3DS is gonna fail, the Vita will absolutely destroy it" > 24 million sales to date, it's sold way more than the...
Maybe he had many tabs open?
