You know what they say. One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. Given current world views of the U.S. and the West this could find an audience. Bad taste or not though, you can't claim people hate us cause we're free but then not allow this game on Kickstarter. You've gotta be consistent. I find it laughable some think have to optimize for two different specs will be this huge barrier. Currently some games are still made for 360 and PS3. And often it's a completely different game. In the past consoles had some technology not available in your basic midrange machine. Last generation you more cores and unified shaders. Abash I doubt any new interest in Move even registers for Microsoft. If hololens proves a commercial success with industry Kinect will have benefited Microsoft far more than Move will Sony. AR can become a multi billion dollar generating tool for Microsoft and Kinect is a huge part of the underlying technology. The potential for AR to assist industry will trump VR in gaming by a ton.
The problem is the argument for superior hardware is usually made by people claiming 900p is unwatchable or less than 60fps hurts their eyes. When it happens with a PS4 title it doesn't seem to bother those same people at all. But it doesn't really matter because everyone knew the complainers were frauds from the beginning.
Nobody gets left behind. The games scale to the machine just like PC. At least with Microsoft. They've been working on that since midway through the 360 generation. But I'm sure Sony has too so nobody is left behind.
For me they would have to do several things to make this worthwhile. One is uping it to a minimum of ten dollars on a AAA game. They would drop Live cost and use this to pay for Live including cloud computing and dedicated servers for all titles sold through the store. And they would have to lower the price of the games. Digital saves on many things. Ten percent isn't enough for full priced games.
Exclusivity started to bleed out with x86 being chosen for the APU in current generation consoles. Why do people think that was done. Games are getting more expensive so that makes multiple platforms easier. The next Nintendo console will continue the trend.

Sorry DLB but IOS is not a full os and the apps aren't full programs. That is the reason Surface Pro took a chunk of iPad sales and forced Apple to follow Microsoft. Two different things. They don't count as productivity machines.
The average gamer isn't in a position to hate articles. This is the result of bias from fans. When fans of one console or the other blindly support their console of choice someone will come along and exploit that. Sites require hits, flamebait generates hits. Its like Jesse Jackson, if you blindly believe in something he will take advantage. Do your own thinking and people have to find real jobs like being a preacher 😉.
Giving developers a chance to step away from their machines and discuss their vision and work is a opportunity to keep the fans excited and give the employee a short break without losing focus. Developers need a team in the pr department that focuses on making viddocs a regular part of every major release. I would bet it's also inspirational for the employee to be recognized for their work. It's also incredibly cheap advertising.

Bluray was absolutely expected to eventually replace DVD. Sony predicted it would outsell DVD within three years. Just Google bluray disc to outsell DVD and watch the goalpost move. And they are still moving. With every technological advance they hope for another chance. It will never happen. The real question is when will digital eliminate both disc.
