@Rain actually he's probably right. It won't allow Microsoft to catch up. It will outsell the Pro. In fact I bet Pro sales decline unless they drop the price down to $300. People will see the difference in $100-50.
But I agree that X lays a foundation for the next generation that Sony is probably seriously concerned about. Microsoft got a lot of engineering going on in that package and Sony will have to spend a lot of R&D money to compete. Plus they need to get...
Ok, Mars. Let's say that was the point. Easily spoiled with a cover. Also still possible on 100s of millions of phones, laptops and PCs. But that doesn't eliminate the many incredible things it could have brought as a gaming tool.
Also simply adding full experience cloud ability and enhancements like I mentioned IF you had it always on would have made many leave it on. Developers could have made some tasty lemonade out of those lemons. Plus if Microsoft had a PR de...
@EDMIX
Always on has huge potential if you use a little imagination. I don't agree with it being used to prevent used disc, but as a game component it could be huge. Just look to mobile but think on console terms.
You could have daily events and quest. Say, a unique weapon is hidden in Tamriel. Everyone searches within their SP game and once found the NPC players start talking about that powerful staff EDMIX found in Whiterun. Which sets off the abili...
Yup.
The person who reviewed this shouldn't be allowed to review games anymore. All of the pros listed are the essence of the game. The cons are silly things. Those silly things drop the game to a 7. It's like someone who reviews restaurants saying not liking the shape of the crackers with the clam chowder drops the restaurant's score two points.
Oyster future proofing at great expense would be a mistake. Why put in 8k in three years when you'd just because hitting stride in 4k TV adoption. You would have a console you spend the maximum amount to manufacture and can't use it to full potential for years. Instead go with a 12 teraflops GPU and focus the design on 4k/60 and better game design. We need to start expecting more from gameplay and let the graphics stay on their natural course. I would also prefer pushing frame rates i...
The games part doesn't matter. If it has BC and upgrades titles it is actually a selling point. But 2020 is probably about the time they will launch with Pro taking over as the bargain option.
Oh, PlayStation article. Was wondering why they were saying that.
Hey, Bruh. I think you're getting consoles mixed up. That's the PS4 that uses CB. X is native. At least according to the developer. Dave Elder gave a statement to WCCFTECH. You can read it on their site. They got it running in four hours. Everyone seems to be able to get games going in hours. Makes those claiming small teams look kinda like liars. A really small team could port a PC version over.
@Weirdos
You and Microsoft is wrong in their sales estimates. The X will be the dominant console in the first six months because a lot of people are waiting on it. People will but S during Christmas because a lot of parents will buy the cheaper console. But people spending their own money will lean towards the X. In previous generations the new console didn't offer an upgrade on games you already own or would have bought but decided to wait. That is a huge difference in past laun...
Rico, I believe someone provided a link in another article where it showed a $400+ 1070 couldn't run the game at 4k either. So either it's poorly optimized or is incredibly demanding. So 1800p is pretty good and actually probably in line with what the 1070 does. Pretty good for a console that cost $500 don't you think?
Just watched video. The game is demanding. It has a ton of physics going on. It would need more than 6 teraflops for 4k. So X does extremely wel...
They don't need to be first party. Games like Doom and The Witcher will show it as well as others.
From four months after launch. Given all of the games upgraded day one just about every Xbox exclusive in a four month window qualifies. Forza 7 says hi.
I'll say he's wrong. All indications are that X will sell very well. I think contrary to what Microsoft thinks the X will account for a huge percentage of their sales. Over the first six months I believe it will count for 60% of all Xboxes sold. X will be a great success despite all of the hate.
I live within a few miles of about 10 Best Buys. There are two in Washington D.C. itself. In a ten miles radius there are at least ten. And I would bet there are a few tucked away in places I don't normally go.
@Babadook
With a year advantage. But how long will that last? Some of those games aren't on Xbox. If they are they will most likely be enhanced. But the difference is there are already games like Doom and Witcher that are on Pro but didn't get an upgrade. But they will get the upgrade on X. When you think about those two developers you're talking about two that always try to push graphics. Yet neither bothered with Pro. So you have to believe developers that kno...
Show some links for any of those admissions. And overselling is exactly what you're doing. He quit Microsoft. He wasn't fired. The ambition to do a Milo and Kate isn't a problem. It failed because hardware never lived up to it's ability. You should be willing to admit that considering you are in every article saying an Xbox X title isn't 4k60 saying it's no better than PS Pro. Most people oversell to some degree. Sometimes it's as simple as believing they can overc...
The author's issue is probably just a matter of poorly run stores. In my area you would have that issue with new games. I found a Best Buy just a few miles away and they always had everything. I eventually asked the manager how he always had copies when the best buy a mile away never did. He said he paid attention to what people wanted. He actually read trade magazines and listened to customers. Then he adjusted orders accordingly. The problem with retail is it's full of poor manageme...
Mars. On another planet as usual. Pachter has little clue what he is talking about. Analyst see billions of dollars being made and jump in to take advantage of a new group of sheep. Analyst are strictly about exploitation in a ponzi scheme.
Peter Molyneux has actual accomplishments in the gaming industry. He has overreached in the past but is far from being the only person who couldn't get equipment to live up to his vision. Ken Kutaragi is an example of that. I used to...
Funny how Sony fanboys see every up coming Sony exclusive as a guaranteed hit while every Microsoft exclusive is a guaranteed failure. I know there is history. But it's still silly to dismiss them by default. I believe both Crackdown and Sea of Thieves will sell consoles and will be in the same Horizon window the Sony Pro exclusives came in. Sony fans relish the past way too much. Except No Man's Sky.
Just like with title diversity. Sony fans still harp on that whil...
