Exactly Jobboy. X is going to sell far better than people think. It won't catch PS4. It might not outsell the S during the Christmas season, but afterwards X will take over and get a high percentage of console sales going forward. If the people in marketing at Microsoft have any skills they are pushing Phil to show the difference that X brings at Gamescom and TGS. If people see games running at 4k/60(and second gen should mostly) X will sell a ton of consoles. The $100-150 price differenc...
Works for BB as Amazon continues to work out it's logistics but in a decade they will have their distribution network in place and their delivery methods set. Prime will add a same day level and brick and mortar will die in the big box form.
You can go back and nitpick anything. The fact remains over twenty five million people bought and enjoyed Skyrim for hundreds of hours each. Considering that there was obviously a whole lot right with it. But you're acting as if things that come later aren't supposed to be better than the things that came before them. Let's see if it works on consoles.
"Here are 25 reasons the Atari 2600 was total sh*t".
See, it works there too. He...
Ouch. Amazon won't give brick and mortars a break. Well played.
Because 1080p hurt his eyes of course.
Such insecurity. Does anyone doubt Sony is dominating. When was that in dispute. My comment is simply that vgchartz was Pachteresque to Sony fans last generation. Now they are credible. Because anything pro-Sony is and anything pro-Microsoft isn't. There were Sony fans believing Microsoft lies in financial calls earlier. Do you understand how ignorant that sounds.
Apparently ten people's tears are that important. Interesting.
The word inconsistencies came to mind for me. I can't tell when vgchartz, or any source, is reliable or not. What is it that decides when information counts and when it doesn't? I can not figure that out.
Of course he his. It's an effort to make Sony fanboys cry. It doesn't matter that if he was lying in a meeting about Microsoft's fiscal viability and it was a lie he could be prosecuted. It's important enough to make fanboys cry so why not destroy your career and lie. In the real world fanboy tears are the only thing that truly matters.
Soul one console gets sales in Japan and one doesn't. Games of Japanese culture would sell better on the one that sells in Japan.
But..but...but the exclusives.
Glitch the thing is that, going forward, last gen games don't have to remain last gen. This is another opportunity where console manufacturers fail at marketing. With dynamic resolution last gen games get updated with a patch so they don't seem last gen. I'd play games from previous generations if they got modern graphics. Gameplay hasn't changed enough to look down on a PS2 game so graphics are probably the biggest issue and that is a easy fix.
Lol! Hey PBomb. So each of those titles sold over a million. If people really bought games then with an install base of over 60 million they all sold at least 5 million copies, right? At 60 million a million in sales is well under 2% which doesn't make it a blockbuster. Uncharted sold well. Did baseball? Even if it's the best baseball game. Street Fighter? It just seems the attach rates are lower than last generation period. No need to get the defense force in high gear. Last generati...
S2killinit
If that is true it may be the case. We would have to have overall game sales to really know. But can you name any major exclusives PlayStation had last year that did major volume? A bunch of games that sell 350,000 copies would take a lot of games. But if the numbers were similar across all of the major publishers last year it pretty much means Sony fans don't buy games. It's a matter of attach rates. In the 360 generation Xbox had a much higher attach rate and tha...
Xbox X will sell extremely well. Once again Pachter is wrong.
Soul last quarter they bought at the same rate. Sony has twice the install base. But if you look at the previous year Sony doesn't double the Xbox sales. Therefore whatever Ubisoft released at that time was bought by a bigger percentage of owners on Xbox than on PC.
Original Xbox and 360 games don't use dynamic resolution. Any game that does will automatically adjust to the power of the available machine. So when PS5 and Xbox X 2 release, or the generation after those really, you would just need 8k assets and your old Xbox One games become 8k games. Therefore I don't know why people have an issue. Unless they enjoy buying the same games three or four times and having developers work on that instead of new games and IP.
Tyasia I'm curious as to why you guys don't get together and start your own studio if you are looking to make money from it. It would seem that if there is already somewhat of a community you just need to organize groups that can work together.
I hope and believe it will help people start a career. It is an opportunity for Bethesda to also pick up new people. The structure definitely comes off as a long interview process. They approve an idea and give you a timeline but work with you. They get to see if you can make deadlines and by handling quality control they get to make sure you really know what you're doing.
And I don't think the whole horse armor thing is bad. Unique items for MMOs would be a good th...
You people really need to stop it with the exclusives mess until you start buying them. When the president of the company comes out and says seven or eight of ten lose money he is saying you don't buy the exclusives.
If you were to say Sony supports gaming more because they will support a game they know will be a money pit for the love of the art then I couldn't argue with you. Microsoft definitely puts finance ahead of gaming. But bragging about things you would n...
