It's not an exclusivity contest. It's a matter of if there are games to be played. And there are. Millions will buy Battlefield because it's not COD. Just like millions bought Medal of Honor. Multi-platform doesn't mean it will no longer be on the 360. As for sales, PS3 has games that do better on it. But more games do better on 360. COD sells far more on 360 than FIFA sells more on PS3. But to laugh at Forza as if it doesn't outsell many of the ex...

Phone, HD Movie channels, 20mb internet speed cost. It would be less if there was some competition in this area. But it is what it is for right now.

MS raised the fee to accommodate Activision according to rumors.

I admit I should have been more specific but it should be obvious I meant $60 per month. Which would be cheap compared to what most are paying for cable and phone now with HD and unlimited national calling. But they would have the advantage of including video calling. Video calling hasn't caught on yet. But if it was built into your cable box, you might use it.

How many games will be released on the 360 this year? It seems all of the games that people are really playing will be on the 360. People are looking forward to MW3, Battlefield 3, Mass Effect, Gears of War, Assassins Creed, Skyrim, Ghost Recon, FIFA 12, Forza. What games are their that you want that they don't have. Both systems have exclusives. But acting as if MS won't be releasing any games this year is silly. You get games. All of the ones anyone actually plays. Plus IPTV. So you...

All of the people that believe this is a mistake need to think about possibilities and not just excepting what is handed to you. If MS can get content providers to allow their content through Live, they have Skype and they have games. The 360 would become an all encompassing machine. Your cable, phone and gaming would all be done throw your 360. Pay for internet and you have everything else built into your 360.

Why pay Comcast $170 a month for three things when I can pay MS ...

What I think this could be used for is podcast. I have friends that have a podcast(shfts.com), and they are spread out through out the country. The world actually since one is in London and another in Korea. MS could start allowing podcast to be done through Skype with avatar support. Add props and the shows could really get crazy.

It does make you wonder sometimes about why they buy certain companies. When they bought 3DV Systems, they said they didn't need it for Kinect. They admitted it was to keep anyone else from having a similar technology. With this I believe it might be more about name recognition. Branding is a major part of business success. The fact that they are keeping the name and just adding Microsoft to it makes me believe that is their point. Skype is everywhere. TV shows, news stations. All types o...

Gold you haven't been paying attention. MS made more on downloads than they did on subscriptions. They don't have to raise the price of Live again. The other thing is that they may be looking to add Skype to other cellphone besides Windows 7 phones. With rising fuel prices and therefore airline ticket prices, more companies are video conferencing. That will grow in the future. Add Kinect technology to a video conference for hands-free presentation. There are a lot of directions MS cou...

Nintendo might be geniuses. Based on the rumors, Cafe sounds like a souped up 360. With better parts.

Since the GPU is two generations ahead of the ones in the 360 and PS# it will be better their. And it will also have a 3 core, dual thread CPU with technology 5 years newer than whats in the other consoles and there have been major advancements in CPU power by all of the majors their.

So since this is probably a souped up 360, programmers will have probably...

I don't think the price will be anywhere near $350-400. The console itself is all old technology with tweaks. I don't believe Nintendo would be stupid enough to pay top dollar for an updated 3 or 4 generations old(by release)GPU. And a updated CPU from 2004. It may be the most powerful console at release. But it will be no more than $250. This will be no different than the original Wii launch. Except that they will beat MS to market this time(?).

By the time new consoles would be released it would be time. If a new 360 was released in 2012 it will be good timing. Looking at videos of games like Battlefield 3 and knowing that the current generation can't do that is bearable. But it will be hard to look at what PC gaming will be in 2012 and still be happy with a 360 or PS3.

If the specs of the Wii leaked are close to being right, and there is no reason to believe they aren't close. It shows that the current gen...

I haven't bought Kinect yet. I most likely won't until the next generation of consoles. I believe that the ability to use multiple Kinects along with a much more powerful console could lead to some new directions for home gaming. Maybe even home virtual reality. Multiple consoles and multiple Kinects. It's all a matter of software.

While no one knows the real numbers actually sold to consumers, companies do use NDP as a guide. They have been very accurate in the past even though the numbers are estimates. But what Sony is doing is trying boost sales. They are pushing the shipped numbers because a lot of people will perceive those numbers as Move being popular and might buy one based on that.

As much as people hate to admit it, advertising and being part of the crowd is important. They will do what othe...

There aren't many reputable companies anymore. To pretend that Microsoft is a company on the verge of oblivion is a joke. For people to believe it is sad. Like any individual. if you have money, you have time. Microsoft has plenty of money and they have a lot of smart people working there. And they still dominate one of the most lucrative markets in the world. Funny you never see these articles about oil companies. Don't we know that their product is almost gone. And it is definitely ...

Pretty much everything else in that division loses money. Xbox is making a profit and there is no reason to believe that will do anything but improve. If anything will be eliminated it would be the things that don't make a profit. How completely stupid would it be to drop a profitable product in a growing field. As far as exclusives go, they don't need them as much. They sell millions of copies of other peoples games. They get paid for each sold. And as long as they have the big franc...

There is no reason to believe Microsoft would leave the gaming industry. The Lazygamer is being just that. Lazy. If they thought for a second they would have to ask themselves why MS would leave gaming just as they have gotten themselves in a position to really profit. They are making a profit on the console, software and should on Kinect. Also a huge profit on Live. People who use E & D profits as a sign of Xbox health obviously don't know what E & D is. There are many products i...

Very powerful in their own right. But with the ability to connect to a Cloud system like Live or PSN and add power to the box. The PS3 would be very good for this since the Cell runs well parallel. If Sony could add power to their existing console without a new console, it would go a long way toward making the PS3 the console of choice while still offering a good machine locally.

It's less than gambling, it's fixed. Instead of making fanboy comments people should ask themselves why the stock hasn't moved. Microsoft has just had record profits last quarter and the stock didn't move. Kinect is expected to move several million units this year and the stock hasn't moved. If record profits and anticipation of more record profits aren't enough to move a stock than there is no point of having stock prices at all. Microsoft pays one of the highest divi...

They just can't compete on cash. Microsoft has over 30 billion in cash just laying around. Sony has maybe 6 or seven billion. But Sony also has over 10 billion in debt and MS has none. MS makes around 13-17 billion in profit every year. Sony was losing money the last few. over two billion two years ago. So while Sony has cash, they just can't use it all for whatever. They have to be careful about how they spend it because of debt. MS can spend over 30 billion on whatever because they ...
