Allow me to counter Sway.

MS stopped selling Zune because no one bought them. You kinda should do that. Original Xbox was stopped because Nvidia and Intel were greedy and refused to lower the price of the CPU and GPU. Limiting the potential install base and number of titles that developers would be willing to make for the system. Plus they would have had to sell the console at a loss for as long as it sold. I've never been sure why no one blames Nvidia or Intel? Oh, they...

I agree completely. 8 years is way too long for a generation. When the Samaritan demo came out it was running on three cards. Now the new demo is on a single card. Gaming tech has moved on that much in that little time. The consoles are old. Still fun, but old. Time for better graphics, physics and AI. Console got left behind after the first year. To try to delay longer just because they are profitable is a mistake that may come back to bite them.

BORING....I'm so tired of the Microsoft abandoned the hardcore market nonsense. Playstation releases a few exclusives. That mostly sell a million copies. Some more, some less. Mainly to the same 500,000 fanboys that crow on and on about da exclusives. And MS still outsells PS3 on almost every hardcore title. MS has sense enough to know that people aren't really buying those exclusives.

Where's Heavy Rain 2? Probably not going to happen. People brushed their teeth ...

All of the people saying it's not worth $60 don't have Live. If they did they would have known that only fools pay $60. I usually pay $35-40. Sometimes less. It's really simple to buy when it's on sale. When PSN is dropping online support for games that are still on Live. I got my moneys worth. When I can chat with my friends. Money well spent. All of the increasing services, I'll buy that.

Stop pretending that Sony doesn't want you to pay. They keep ...

Sony is gambling because they are most likely losing money on a lot of those exclusives. The exclusives that they don't own like MGS, GoW and GT make a ton of money. But things like Killzone, LBP2, SOCOM and Infamous 2 I'm sure lost money.

It's a gamble because the exclusives seem to be what their fans clamor for. Whether they buy them or not. But if they don't make money or sell consoles, how long can they continue to do it. Kaz has said the company has to ch...

Nintendo brought the complaints on themselves. This console releases this year. People want to know what it is capable of. I was interested in the beginning. But now that they have played games and haven't given any real information, I've lost interest. I like a few of the things they are doing. But they give me the impression that this thing has little power. And all of these vague leaks mean nothing. Just release the damn specs.

But as the generation goes on the developers will get better with the tech and machine, so it should look dated in two years.

Sony is no more committed to gamers than Microsoft and Nintendo. They are all console makers. Just because one decides on a different way of doing business doesn't mean they aren't committed. Microsoft makes a ton of money now. But they stayed with Xbox after losing billions. And RRoD. That is commitment. Articles that pretend one has a different goal than the other are a joke.

Sony isn't gambling. They're catering to the fans on websites. If it keeps them lo...

A much as the Sony fans complain about casual games you would think they would be against WonderBook.

5119d ago 1 agree2 disagreeView comment

If you are a casual gamer, the 360 is perfect for you. It has enough power to run all of the games that the casual market likes. Kinect and the 360 could continue for years to provide a low cost system for kids and casual gamers. You can make a hundred new experiences for them with the current hardware.

The next generation will be for the HC fans. It will be powerful machines capable of pushing games to the next level.

They probably should make two versions. I agree they need to address the huge install base on the PS3. But they need content for the new system and launch titles. I'd release it a year early on PS4.

"Andibandit, what does Wonderbook ripoff?"

Most likely the customer.

Or they may not want to be another me too company.

All of this nonsense about the core market and now Sony fanboys complain when MS don't want to make another casual game.

Damned if you do, Damned if you don't. No winning with fanboys. Fanboys are the 2nd definition of insanity that Vaas didn't get to mention.

5119d ago 1 agree2 disagreeView comment

I think the character of Vaas will make the game. I didn't buy any of the other Far Cry games except 1. Vaas has pulled me back in.

EA needs to just give up on the NFL contract and let 2K back in the game. After all of these years they have done little to push football games forward. The players all still look like they have back problems. And the transitions from one animation to the next are clear. They didn't consider more realistic physics until Backbreaker came along.

Look at the realism of NBA 2K. We could have had something like that in football with the physics of Backbreaker a long time ago ...

@jnatalzia

I'm assuming you and all of the agrees for you are Xbox and Nintendo fans. That thing was directed at the kids casual market which I thought Sony people hated.

The main thing the average Sony N4G fan should be looking forward to is Beyond. I don't own a PS3. But that makes me want one. Where Heavy Rain looked like one continuous QTE. That looks like(and from what the devs have said)and sounds like it is going to be a real game. Wonderbook,...

I think it depends on the final specs of the machine. If it is just a souped up 360, I'll say $250. If it is based on much better parts it will be $300. The $250 machine would be sold at cost with a slight loss on each $300 machine.

Gears started out as a tech demo. Long before it was a game. I assume you blew off the Kara tech demo too. Beyond looks amazing. Star Wars 1313 looks nice and is gameplay. Even it developers can't get that day one. A tech demo's quality can eventually be reached in a full game. I wouldn't dismiss it yet.

PCs and consoles are different machines. You can go with less RAM on a console because it is a specialized machine. That's why everything is so much smaller. Less RAM, small OS. Computers have to work on a ton of different configurations. Consoles have one spec.

Nintendo's conference was a disappointment from the standpoint that things that really matter were left out. Things like a launch date. The system specs. And the media used for the system. And price. Those things are big for analyst. They go a long way toward making a decision on whether someone should buy Nintendo stock.

Rumors point to the system possibly being under powered for next generation. If the other two companies release major updates, Nintendo will be in a hol...
