Also way too many flavors of Coke.
The app is far from a failure. Access is available to people that subscribe to HBO and that is a problem. But it isn't one that is caused by HBO. I'm sure they have clauses in their contracts with cable companies that don't allow for them to basically go solo. Either that or they were threatened with removal from the cable companies if they did allow a standalone app.
It will eventually move to that. With all of the movie channels moving to a streaming version the...
That's the point to the corporations. I know people think they should be geared specifically toward one group or another. But the truth is most companies go with what will keep them in business. Those that don't usually end up going out of business. Both markets are important. I prefer the hardcore games. But I understand that casual is a far larger market and can only hope that the rewards of it will trickle down to the hardcore. Kinect being an example. It will mature and grow into ...
Nvidia total revenue last year was just under 4 billion. AMD was just over 6 and a half billion. Intel was 54 billion. And Microsoft was just under 70 billion. I looked at the annual reports of each company. Not sure what you're using to judge "size".
Microsoft isn't a hardware company? Ever heard of the Xbox 360. Microsoft has several businesses that they don't mention much about. Remember Zune. There's Surface and then Kinect. The CPU in the 360 us...
Yeah, they are small. 130 million people is nothing. And the third largest economy in the world. Pfft. Who cares.
?
Nvidia is a relatively small company that is struggling itself. Partnering with companies like Onlive will be hard when they are going up against companies like AMD, Intel and Microsoft. Good luck with that.
I do wish them luck though. Things happening in the industry are putting a ton of pressure on them to generate new income.
So Zeeshan, I guess you're saying the developers shouldn't have gotten paid? Hope your boss doesn't monitor your online accounts.
I think it was a tech demo and now they are trying to figure out how to turn it into a game. That or they are very small and take their time.
It's amazing that there are people out there incapable of understanding that a good rating doesn't mean success to a company. This delusion that Sony can prosper on whether or not people like a game is a joke.
Sony is depending on people actually buying these games. Many that you named didn't make much money for Sony. You're also obviously don't know what in-house means. Resistance 1 should have made money. the third definitely lost money. LBP 1 probably m...
So many game companies are going out of business. Or sold out to a bigger company. Or got into a deal for financing or distribution with another company.
The reason why is making games is expensive. So many made new games. And when they failed the companies failed too. Far more games fail than succeed. MS learned from their mistake like Rare. They now look before they buy. I know they have a seemingly inexhaustible amount of money. But it would be stupid to just squander it....
It's hard to believe that Nintendo will launch a new console that has the same power as the current ones. Especially in a generation that has lasted so long. Anyone can spend $200 on a CPU and GPU at Newegg right now and kill the current consoles. A AMD APU would kill them graphically and probably on the processor side too and that can be bought for $100.
Nintendo can't be that stupid. Rumors that it will be on par with this generation are a smoke screen. But I doubt...
Hollow, apparently two people are living under your bed and know that your Slim has failed. You should check on that.
Even if they had said 30% I would doubt it. I think it was over a third. Maybe even 40%.
I think Kaz is doing the right thing. He just has to make it clear to the board that the old way and the arrogance are over. On his part too. And the company needs to realize it's name isn't what it used to be. Dump a bunch of it's products and focus on a few things.
No one but gamers would be looking for it. No one looking for a 3D TV is looking for a tiny display. They want 40" or bigger. The whole thing was a bad idea.
Jazz, it won't take Sony another year before it drastically changes. They might drop TVs. Sell off phones. I believe the most likely thing to happen is they are bought out or taken over by Apple. Sony is already involved in many of the things Apple is trying to move into. Apple would love to own the largest movie studio. Own a huge music group. Get tons of imaging technology. And get into gaming.
Missing that forecast recently points to Sony no longer being Sony before t...
Keep living in dream land where you can separate one part of the company from the rest. Sony went from a 100 billion company to a 17 billion company because the company as a whole stinks. And in public companies stockholders demand changes. Hundreds of millions of give aways is stupid business when the whole company is facing bankruptcy.
Sony's Mommy and Daddy can't just keep buying toys when they can't pay the mortgage.
If Sony continues to falter as a company they are going to have to cut more cost. Or create more revenue. Right now PSN cost Sony hundreds of millions to remain free. Sony will be the one to move toward Microsoft. Not the other way around. PSN+ was the first sign they want to start charging.
There is one reason to have two consoles on one account. Streaming. If they allowed the 720 to stream games to a 360 in another room. No need to move the 720 to the bedroom at night or to the livingroom during the day. Put the disc in the drive of the 720 and play the game on the 360 in the bedroom.
720 will have full BC because the chips CPU and GPU are one chip that can be shrunk two more sizes. From 45nm to 28nm. That would make them so cheap that they would cost little to...
Darth I think it is a multi promotional move. PC makers are pushing certain models, MS want to get more Xboxs and Windows PCs on the market. The AMD machines last year were all Fusion machines I believe so I'm sure AMD and Intel have a hand in it too.
