I liked what you said about people wanting drugs legalized but guns restricted. The thing is conservatives want the opposite so they believe the same thing. I personally think guns and drugs should be legal. So many Americans are killed by guns because there is something wrong with us. Hate to say it but there is. Like Darkride said, Canada has as many guns but nowhere near the gun crime.
Same for drugs. We consume 50% of the worlds cocaine with 5% o...
It's a shame that news companies have so much power and influence. Fox has more viewers than the other cable news networks and has a lot of the dumber viewers. The first reports that tried to make a video game connection said that he only played Guitar Hero. Considering the new channels are more about selling hype than telling the truth we should have all expected this to eventually turn into a video game thing since video game makers don't have lobbyist.
The funny t...
I'm not sure Surface will mean much more than a basic desktop in the beginning. The Pro version is a basic desktop which will probably included Intel integrated graphics. I think the point where it will make a huge difference will be when Intel integrated graphics gain some real power. Or when ATI starts releasing APU's with CPU power fully enhanced with HSA. At that point you will have a very powerful CPU and GPU in a tablet with a fully functioning OS. And that will surely blow anyt...
I know it popular to just blast Pachter all of the time. He is often wrong. Most analyst are. But Nintendo should be releasing more info about a console they plan to launch this year. From an analyst point of view the info is important. Gamers will say "I just want great games". But analyst aren't working for gamers. They're working for investors and investors are more show me people than I'll just trust you.
From an investor standpoint Nintendo looks l...
Just read an article on Arstechnica. Windows 8 has a digital store built in. It would compete directly with Steam.
Replace Madden with NFL 2K5.
Ahh, Brute Force. I loved that game. I had my best gaming experience ever on that game. It truly needs a sequel.
Chunky you forgot Witcher 2.
It doesn't matter if some don't like it. It wouldn't be the first new thing people adjusted to. And there is no reason to believe that having Kinect precludes having a keyboard. It's no different than having a controller on games and still having Kinect. People need to get over it, technology is changing.
CG Sony should be concerned. Nobody buys most of those PS exclusive titles. No wonder Sony is moving toward casual games this year.
Actually, I think Sony is doing casual this year to focus on the next console games.
But it's true that most of those games don't sell well.
Fanboys are so funny. Everyone knows Sony gave away a ton of Blu-ray players and PS3s.
It's sad that some use the disagree button on facts. My nephew got a free Blu-ray player with a speaker bar just a year and a half ago.
I'm going to try to use the Jedi mind trick on their feeble brains.

Dark some of what you say is true. There are a lot of broken 360s out there. But that is a double edged argument. Since there are so many broken 360s, that makes their software sales look amazing. The 360 consistently outsells the PS3 in most multiplats. Sometimes by several million copies. So if I'm a developer, I make the 360 my priority. Their user base is far more likely to spend money.
Also, while Sony may have had an advantage over the last few years, they didn'...
Weak argument. Non of the parts in the PS3 are that much more expensive than the 360 parts at this point. Maybe a thirty dollar difference in parts. The biggest difference is that MS went to a CPU/GPU System on a chip design at the same size as either of Sony's main parts in the PS3. So it was about making the machine in a smarter way more than the parts.
And the really weak part is that the pictures seem to indicate that a very basic machine is exactly what the 16gb PS3 ...
I don't. But apparently Sony has realized their mistake. They have cut studios, they are doing more casual and they trying to cut the price of the PS3. So apparently they see the value of things selling. I know some people are incapable of grasping why sales matter. But they do. No sales mean fewer games. So all of those exclusives that you seem to think are important don't seem to be important to the people that matter to Sony, MS and Nintendo. People who buy games.

MS gave Xboxes away. Yeah, Sony never did that. Not like they gave them away with many TVs over the years. So I guess Sony has kinda gone crazy too. Not to mention the millions of Blu-ray players they gave away also.
Exactly. It will mean nothing. MS can match anything they can do on cost.
Not necessarily touch screen. Is there any technology out there that would work with Metro other than a touch screen? One that might be of benefit to MS. An area of technology that many are moving toward. Let me think..... Oh, they might be bring Kinect to monitors like they are to TVs.
MS is moving everything toward a similar system. Xbox, PC and tablets. It would be in their best interest to push Kinect to all of them. As well as TVs.
Nice catch Timotim. I think you're onto something there. MS has been doing a lot more open source lately too. And Windows is not their main cash cow like it was in the past.

It's not as important that they milk developers like they have in the past. E & D is moving up in revenue and w...
I think he is delusional if he thinks all of the developers will switch to Linux. The money needed to retrain programmers for that would be paid by who? Valve. Over 80% of the world uses Windows. I'm sure Gabe knows from a business standpoint that this won't happen anytime soon. If they want to invest over time to make it happen then fine. But the world isn't going to just pick up and move over to Linux because he doesn't like 8. Plus there is still a ton of people out there w...
I wouldn't say they are equally terrible. Fox is like a raging alcoholic. The rest are just enablers. Fox makes up complete nonsense and covers for the worst offenders in the world. Big oil, Wall Street, illegal wars. The rest don't make a real attempt to inform and educate the public. They only say enough to perpetuate the idea that there are two different parties in the US.
