This is just one of those games that was a victim of being marketed to a mass market that isn't intelligent enough to appreciate the things it does
In-engine and in-game are different things.
@Beasely
I personally don't find the Giantbomb crew as entertaining or charming as the gametrailers crew. I watch their quick looks to pass the time on occasion, but aside from that, I don't like the staff enough to be compelled to watch almost every video like I did with gametrailers.
I didn't go on their site because it was too much of an inconvenience, but I watched every video as it showed up on their YouTube channel. The staff at gametrailers had this sense of family that no other publication I've followed has had. They also showed such a passion for gaming. One needs only to go on youtube and look up their Sony e3 press conference reactions from last year.
They weren't really biased in the sense that you think. On their casual shows and s...
My favorite staff of any video game publication to date. I can't wait to see content from this new company they've created.
Didn't they say they were going for a worldwide launch or something like that
Still, more was put into The Last of Us Remaster than the Uncharted 3 remaster which is a much more basic 1080p 60fps clean up with better texture filtering with no improved assets
Easy business's strategy. It goes in the order of the games people hate most to the games people like most. A lot of humans are impatient. They may want to scratch an itch and see only re 6 is available for a while and they buy that to tide them over until the next release.
The Last of Remastered is a bigger visual difference than this. The multiplayer was only just 1080p 60fps version of the PS3 game, but the single player did have improved assets. It just didn't go to the extent of gears of war or the first 2 uncharted games in the collection. There were improvements. I saw many comparisons and a lot of textures and some miscellaneous objects had better textures. Hell, I saw one random bag of garbage that had improved polygon counts on the PS4 version, but...
The Last of Us Remastered had improved assets. It didn't go to the same extent as the Uncharted 1 and 2 remasters, but it definitely made many improvements aside from just shadows and framerate and resolution bump.
Why is there no player choice and consequence in side quests then? See, that's the thing. The censorship started off innocently enough in the first game with a few minor costume changes, but now the sequel has costume changes on top of butchered side quests. That's the problem with censorship of any kind. If it continues to be supported, it eventually seeps into aspects of the games that actually matter like the cut side quest content in Bravely Second. I would have gotten the game if...
If you actually read the article, it's about more than costume changes. Side quests that had multiple outcomes in the japanese release with choices playing a role in what happened was removed in the localization. You can make choices, but you'll always recieve a "neutral" outcome. There is no consequence for your actions. Japan got up to 4 endings for these side quests that could get pretty dark. Characters could die in side quests. Can this happen over here? No, it can'...
As soon as I heard about the side quests, I immediately decided I was not going to support this game.
The first game wasn't that grind heavy. I've played much more grind heavy games. Bravely Default was ️baby steps in comparison
Heavy Rain fanboys will tell you otherwise because they blatantly ignore glaring flaws in Heavy Rain just because it was an emotional experience and because of that, any and all criticism offends them.
The first Witcher 3 expansion while a bit awkward with the kissing animations, was a damn good sex scene for a game. Probably the best I've seen in a video game.
Watch out, guys. All the Heavy Rain fanboys will attack you with dislikes for ever saying ANYTHING negative about their precious game because it can't have any flaws.
Ratchet and Clank was delayed by a few months to coincide with the release of the film even though it was already finished and could have released as early as January or maybe even december, but you know. $$$$$$
I think the lack of wow this generation is not just due to the fact that the console hardware has improved less significantly than in the past, but also due to developers just not utilizing the hardware properly. Look at how many games this gen are just last gen ports with slightly better lighting and slightly better textures here and there only running at 1080p and 60fps. Take MGS 5 for example.
That was clearly a game made to run on last gen with some enhancements here and the...
The point is this is many many many years after the pc version. No reason we couldn't have at least gotten a port of that version. The Xbox 360 version also still looks much better than the ps2 and ps4 versions. That's why I personally would not waste money on this basic ps4 version. It's 2016 and we get the worst version of Bully when there are 2 better looking versions that have been available for almost a decade. It's stupid.
