Fallout 1 and 2 most definitely are ugly games to look at.
I love great visuals too, but they are not the end-all/be-all for me. It's a thing that can further enhance the experience. If a game is great and looks great, then that's even better, however if a game sucks and looks amazing, I'll probably finish it just to see how pretty the environments are, but that doesn't mean I'm enjoying the game any more. Visuals can elevate something that is already good, but can not make a bad product good.

I don't know why people say graphics comparisons of this platform and that platform are useless because this platform will always look better. Um, have you ever thought that people find technology fascinating and like looking at technical differences between different versions of games because they find it interesting????
I think it's pretty obvious why battleborn won't see the same difference....borderlands 2 launched in 2012--the tail end of the console generation. They were already past their prime. This is going to be releasing this gen 3 years into the generation??? Simple to see why the difference won't be as big.

I don't know about you, but there are plenty of turn based rpg's on 3DS and Vita. Just finished playing Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold after completing Dungeon Travelers 2 and now I'm starting up Shin Megami Tensei 4 to get prepared for SMT 4: Final. All turn-based rpg's. There's plenty on 3DS and Vita.
It's a different style. Big deal. Certainly, there's a layer of strategy and forward thinking that needs to be applied to turn based games, but to dismiss this just because it has real time combat is pretty silly. Be a little more open to the different kinds of experiences you can get from games. This could be an amazing game. We don't know yet.
This will be missed. The gametrailers crew was my favorite of all the major publications and this kind of hits home. Their reviews and series like Gt Retrospective, GT Live, The Final Bosman, Mandatory Update, etc...have provided me with so much entertainment over the years and I'll miss the site a lot now.

This is a serious question because I have never played the game and I've never delved too deep into reviews and whatnot, but I seem to see so many critics praising this game and users left and right find every opportunity to bash this game. Why?

FEAR is an excellent shooter with satisfying shootouts, but it is far from scary. The first time I played it, I saw every jump scare and "psychological" scare coming from miles away. It was so poorly telegraphed. FEAR 2, while not necessarily a better game or better shooter, is easily the scariest of the series.
