I feel it'll take 2 console generations after the current before a full native 4K becomes a standard across all games
It doesn't. Even the PC version which supports up to 4K resolution isn't actually native 4k. It's upscaled. There are no pro benefits so you're just going to be dealing with the standard 4K upscaling the ps4 pro does for all games and the results are ugly.
It's an exact port of the PS3 game to ps4 only in 1080p and/or upscaled to 4K!!!!! It's ugly and has awful textures and bland secondary character models. It's an ugly experience, but one of the bes...
The worst part is having the money, but not the time so you continue buying games and have no time for anything
The extra $10 for new games that started with last gen makes sense though because once last gen started, the cost of development of games started increasing significantly and gaming in general started to be taken more seriously so more studios invested more money and man hours than they used to. $10 extra per game compared to before is the only reasonable to help recoup the cost of increased development.
However, payable dlc released just a week after the game is complete B...
"Not enough time to warrant playing merely a good game"?
Really? I feel so so bad for you. I barely have enough time for games as it is and never am satisfied with the amount of free time I have, but I still jump on good and average games because I'm not stupid. I understand just because someone thinks a game is good, that doesn't mean I won't think it's amazing. I also understand that just good games are 100% worth your time, but you keep thinkin...
With how much extra headroom the scorpio has over the ps4 pro, I'd prefer targeting 1440p as a minimum resolution with increased assets and effects. Because let me tell you, once you've experienced higher resolutions you really begin to understand no matter how detailed textures or character models are, there will come a point where 1080p simply isn't a high enough resolution and these high quality assets aren't being done justice.
After playing The Last of...
No. A true gamer loves a good game regardless of genre or visual style or whatever. True gamers love good games and have an open mind. We don't care whether it's triple A or an indie game or side scrolling or Japanese or whatever. We support all kinds of experiences and find validity in all of them
Zestiria was trash, but this is honestly one of the best Tales games to come in years. Do not let it pass you by.
Normal took me 9 hours and 40 minutes and I played slowly and scavenged for as much as I could and backtracked to older inaccessible optional room to gather resources. Still took under 10 hours for me. Not sure how you got to 16 hours
Except Revelations wasn't scary at all just like 4 wasn't scary at all
It is a remastered release with new characters, new stages, new enemies, remastered audio with an option for classic audio. It's a respectful re-release of a SNES classic handled by the same team of people that originally developed the game back in the day
Digital deals? I don't give a damn about digital deals, Amazon.
I went as far as to import the European versions of the quantic dream collection and the Asian version of the devil may cry 4 remaster just to have them physically. I didn't even play Firewatch until limited run games ended up doing their limited physical release of it and I got it
Not really. That resolution is an 800,000 pixel count increase over native 1080p and considering just how heavy the post processing effects are and much they soften and blur the image, any higher resolutions than 1080p help significantly.
That being said, the game in general was held back by targeting a 1080p 60fps on both consoles because it had to remain fully playable in VR. As a result, the optimization was clearly spent on the base ps4 version and all versions from ps4...
No it doesn't. It's a very clearly focused survival horror game with several key callbacks to the older and design/gameplay elements that 4-6 abandoned. The only reason you think it has an "identity crisis" is because its first person.
You know what game had an identity crisis? RE 6. 4 campaigns each with their own different styles that were meant to appeal to different audiences from the slightly more atmospheric Leon campaign to the full blown cover mili...
Judging by how it looks on ps4 pro, probably not as good as you'd expect. Even running at a much higher resolution than the ps4 and Xbox one versions, the image quality is still very soft because of the heavy use of post processing effects like depth of field and chromatic aberration. All the post processing certainly gives the game a distinct look which I think works for the tape sequences, but during the majority of the game, it kills the clarity of the image
Yeah I currently own 52 physical ps4 games as of getting RE 7 and Tales of Berseria and I haven't even owned the console since launch. It took me about 9-10 months past launch to get the ps4
...there is an asian release with englidh subtitles and English text in menus.
Nah, you're just a regressive gamer that doesn't allow developer's creative freedom and wants game franchises to remain stagnant forever.
Your mentality is "oh, it has this name?? That means it BETTER PLAY EXACTLY LIKE I WANT OR IT'S TRASH!!! I don't care if it's an ongoing series that has 10+ games. I'll still trash it for trying something new because I can't stand change.
I want the same crap every year. I want the...
@ashunderfire,
and there were some games last gen that hit 1080p, but even on base ps4, that's still not a standard across all games. Hell, even Nioh on ps4 pro in the 60fps mode uses dynamic resolution scaling and goes below 1080p. Next gen will see more native 4K games, but demands for games will also increase so 2 console gens is the soonest we can expect every single game to hit native 4K
