It didn't look like a thumb to me.

Now see, I always thought the point of a father playing videogames with his son was to warm feeling of spending quality time doing something you both love, and male bonding. Not to obsessively engineer ways of crushing and humiliating him with defeat.

I was actually thinking of that too!

Yeah, I noticed that. Whilst trying to come up with potential workarounds for that issue, I considered the idea of Only cloaking the body and leaving the head uncloaked. Needless to say, i'm still laughing about that idea right now.

I also thought what it would be like to be inside the cloak. Not many people get to experience a total absence of light. Would be fairly creepy.

The fire was real. The RROD being the cause wasn't. Just because his house almost burned down doesn't mean i'll believe everything they said out of sympathy.

This is fake. When the 360 RRODs, it isn't ACTUALLY overheating anymore. The Red rings mean the 360 already got too hot and the processors were damaged. Anyone who has gotten a Red Ring failure such as myself will tell you that when the red rings come on the console is actually producing less heat than when it is working, and the fans are barely running. The console is DEAD. It's only switching on to show you the red quadrants so you know to call support.

Wow. I don't remember the last time I got that worked up about an inanimate object.

Probably because I never have.

I'll remedy that by breaking down and crying over the chair in my room. It really bugs me sometimes.

This is a GOOD thing. Nothing will make the government commit to upgrading the national cabling infrastructure. But maybe if faced with the prospect of nationwide internet COLLAPSE they would get off their collective arses and open their wallets. Then maybe the consumer wont be paying extortionate amounts to have "superfast" "broadband" pumped through victorian era copper cabling.

I have to agree. They were too easy on him with the charge. Manslaughter? It doesn't get much more premeditated than that. Sure, not getting your turn makes you angry, but not angry enough to cloud your judgement.
I am utterly speechless. What kind of a man would shoot someone in the head for not giving him a control pad. He's a psychopath and should never walk free again.

I think you're right. A bundle might be possible, but Sony have only just dropped the price all over the world a few months ago now. I don't think they can afford another price cut so soon. I am of course speculating.
I think MS figured the same, which is why they aren't waiting till a bigger sale period to drop it. They don't figure there's anything the competition can do right now.

And kakkoii, i'm not the one who disagreed with you, because I see where you're coming from, but I know why they did. If it were possible to alter the DNA sequence in the cells of a living organism, the changes would manifest in the next mitotic cycle. Depending on the cell that could be as little as a day. But at present, DNA manipulation isn't sophisticated enough to alter living cells, other than the ham-fisted bacterial modification process.

this is the greatest comment thread ever. i'm giving you all bubbles, even Se7en.

It says in the article that the process doesn't rely on the nucleotide sequence. Proteins are transcribed from the nucleotides, so the data doesn't affect it.
In theory, the body would be incapable of reading what they write on it, although I don't think they're even able to alter the DNA without killing the cell yet anyway.

I do understand what you meant. And I don't disagree. I just couldn't rightly agree with your optimism. I considered the possibility of MS and Sony adopting "the Wii approach" some time ago, and resolved then and there that should that day come I would quit gaming.

I see the logic of it, it's undeniable. Using old hardware is cheaper, easier to understand and will attract the less technically savvy mass market.

But I'm not in it for the mass market ac...

do you guys need a hand? I'll quickly move to the US, gain US citizenship, vote against Hilary Clinton, then move back to the UK and watch.
If it helps.

If the next generation is based on the Wii, I wont be buying any of them. I'll seriously just take up a new hobby.

I guess i'm lucky, my house is swarming with Wireless devices, most of them occupying the same band, and I never get interference. My xbox is sitting right next to my cordless phone too.

This is bizarre. Looking over the comments section i'd estimate that roughly 10% of N4G commenters actually read an article before giving an opinion on it. the other 90% apparently read the title and run with it.
This site is a sinking ship, slipping slowly and surely into an ocean of pure bubbling sh*t.

360's relative failure? The 360 wont fail at all, even if the PS3 were to overtake it in sales, it has more than enough of an install base to make it a profitable venture for Microsoft this generation. I don't know what makes you or anybody for that matter think there is actually going to be a literal "winner" of the console war. This is business, not a playground footrace.

Oh, and nice avatar.

I suppose i'm wasting my time pointing out that the PS3 is playing catchup and it has to sell ALOT more than the 360 did in the same life span to overtake it. But who am I to point that out in your moment of happiness.

I'm glad to see a plummeting price tag can boost console sales too. Let's just hope Sony have a way of making back all that money. No worries, they're a clever company, they'll figure something out.
