This argument could go on for days. Neither had sharper anything, or better lighted anything, or higher esolution anything. The subtle difference you saw was probably a different codec or something.
It's already been pointed out, but developers don't waste time and money optimising cross platform games. That's why cross platform games are rarely any good. This is precisely the same software and graphical strength, simply converted to the different hardware.
1200 points? Ubisoft have gone mad.
I think the article is bogus, but I do think they will drop the price at xmas, just not by $100. It makes business sense, to remind everyone the 360 is still there after PS3 launches. I've said it before, there's no way they'd announce a $100 price cut so soon, people would stop buying them to wait for the drop. You see, Microsoft will denounce the story soon enough. But mark my words, there will be a small price drop around christmas.
Very well researched, interesting article. I don't mind paying a comparative amount of about £15 per year to run my 360, I wont even notice it going, but it's always fascinating to hear these things. I just hope the MS/Sony fanboys don't start a big s**t storm over this. They can get turned on by anything these days.
Glad to hear it! I'm having second thoughts about the game myself, not that it doesn't look great, but it sound very tedious to play. I'll decide if I want to keep my preorder based on the demo.
It would be a great game to celebrate the end of my exams though.
Yeah, I hope the game doesn't get frustrating, you know like the whole "pick up the green stone" thing and you tear the place apart jumping from portal to portal to find it only to see it sitting in a shadown where you started.
I loved halo 2, I still do. It was a great experience, waiting, hyping, getting it in the post on the morning and playing it.
I do agree with everything he pointed out in the article, it was all true, but it didn't make the game "suck". It was a bit of a bummer. And Bungie really cleaned up the modders, I only get one every week or so now.
I'm sure Bungie are everpresent listening to gripes, and they'll fix them.
The trick is, look foward to something, don't wor...
A change of Chairman rarely affects the company greatly. Bill Gates, or any other chairman for that matter, would leave most of his decision making to subordinates at this point. Unless the new guy starts out by firing hundreds of high ranking Microsoft employees, nothing much will happen.
And you don't honestly think GOOGLE are going to buy out Microsoft, do you? Google are rich, but they don't carry that kind of power. They're buying stock from Microsoft because microsoft stock is li...
I'd better post now before the comments get overun by whiners.
I found the article fair, they make the thoughts behind the purchases very clear: Don't get PS3 unless you are passionate about hi-def movies.
I'm not interested in high tech movie playback at the moment. High definition is pretty, but the novelty is wearing off very quickly. I probably wont be buying the HD-DVD attachment for my 360, but if I ever decide to I don't think i'll feel sore even if they don't put an HDMI...
It would be nice, but they wont put stickers on the front of boxes, because they have that disclaimer going, they can retract or add any BC games any time they want, so the label would legally implicate them to maintain the game.
yeah, I hear you. I'm not accusing the Japanese of being malicious or snobbish, but they have a strong sense of national pride. They feel they lead the market on technology, it's drummed into them, as it is drummed into Americans and consequently the English.
So, they feel they should wait for the Japanese technology before buying.
Whilst the Americans and English lap up their technology because of the partially false impression we have that everything Japansese is amaz...
Why would anyone buy a previous gen console now? Even Sony fanboys should be saving for the PS3. But i'll speculate based on the article.
As for the confused people here, the previous article said that in that month 360 outsold the PS2.
You know what this tells me? That the PS3 would have been outsold by the PS2 had it been released now, too. Consumers don't like thinking, and to the consumer lower price= good. Not many people save tech geeks invest in the future.
PS2 sa...
This is somewhat disappointing, but they got two of my games. And my little brother will love playing lego star wars on the 360.
I know alot of the list is crap, but I don't accuse them of swindling. I do believe them when they say making the emulators is difficult, and yes i'm well aware they could be lying. For a rare change, I trust the company on this one.
I was hoping for destroy all humans, but what can you do.
I'm glad you found it works, I hadn't even tried it myself, I always assumed it didn't work, since I could never copy music off the computer to the hdd through WMC.
So, I owe you that too!
I'm a little confused, you mean copying off a cd-r? Because this is true, but the reason they wont let you copy music off a cd-r onto the HDD is to stop illegal music getting on the hdd. You can't copy music from windows media connect either, but you can make playlists on the computer and access them through win media connect, again for illegal music sharing.
But the updates can be taken from a dd-r, but again I can't find software updates, only backward compatability.
It's righ...
You can indeed play music on a cd-r too. It was one of the main advertised features.
As for the update, I checked it out, and now i'm starting to wonder if you can download the software updates off the website. So far I can only find backwards compatability updates.
So yes, you can put updates on a cd-r, but i'm not sure if you can do anything but backwards compatability yet.
I swear there's english in here somewhere.
But Joystiq have always been PS fanboys. Every day there's a new article about something microsoft do wrong.
Granted, this is a branch from Joytiq to a 360 site, but i'll believe they've changed when I see it. And so far they seem to be pulling the fanboy s**t again.
You can copy the updates to a cd-r off the website, too.
either reasonably good news or a monumentally simple photoshop job.
So in other words, the pictures are worth nothing.
