Are you going to blame subscription based gaming on PSNow? GamePass, EA Access, and all the other coming out were clearly influenced by that.
He goes pretty easy on Sony considering they were doing even pay to win MT's in UC3 back in 2012 before Gears or Halo even introduced them. Sony also had pay to win MT's in there for TLoU. UC4 at least was only cosmetic, but still had a ton of them. I'm willing to bet TLoU 2 will have them as well.
I'm honestly fine with these games having them as well (Besides the pay to win). For instance, UC4 was heavily supported online and then also even got a Horde typ...
With TLoU2, I dont need to see anymore haha just let us know when we can get this baby.
I'm not buying until split screen co-op has been fixed. The wife an I really want to play it, but I dont want all the bugs and frame drops.
"Being exclusive to EGS did not affect that, and did not result in low sales."
You're saying it with this statement right here. I'm asking you, how do you know it didnt affect it getting more sales and setting an even higher bar? Yes it still sold more than BL2, but it certainly wasn't because of EGS exclusivity. The reality is being exclusive to EGS DID cause lower sales than it could have gotten.
Nintendo and Mario have such a wider audience than Halo though. Everyone from 3-30 loves Mario Kart so its naturally going to sell more. People buy Nintendo systems for those Mario games so the attach rate is always higher.
But how do you know it hasn't resulted in lower sales? That's what's I'm saying. You're telling me that if it launched on Steam or GOG it wouldn't have sold MORE? You think the sales would be exactly the same regardless?
I'm willing to bet that it would have sold much more without exclusivity.
@rain
Exactly, people just want the game so its silly to praise EGS like it was the reason it sold more than previous games. When in reality it would have sold more if it wasn't exclusive.
So, let me get this straight, you're telling me that if they DIDN'T launch exclusively on Epic Store that they wouldn't have received these record breaking sales? Because if it was on Steam and GOG as well the sales would have tanked and been poo?
It didnt sell super well because BL3 was a long time coming and people really want it?
@oldboy
Exactly, especially with the new hardware and their network had gotten much better since the OG MAG days. Would be awesome for it to make a comeback.
I'd also like a nice tactical SOCOM game back as well.
Overwatch sucks anyway.
Twisted Metal and some SOCOM please. Or if not SOCOM, bring back MAG. I wouldn't mind a good competitive exclusive MP for Sony.
umm Sony shut them down.
Yep, I've always wanted a Feudal Japan open world adventure. I hope they add in some deep stealth mechanics into it as well mixing a bit of Tenchu in there. Sucker Punch is a great dev and they have always done more fantastical type characters and worlds, so I wonder if they will add in some of the Japanese mythology or if it will be more grounded in realism.
Really looking forward to seeing more on it.
I'm a big fan of MGS (except MGSV) and I'm having a hard time finding what I'll like about the game besides the story. You can not like what you see with DS, but still like other Kojima games. It's not so black and white as "if you dont like this game you just be a CoD and madden yearly release type gamer".
@Oldboy
Shovelware? lol I shouldn't even bother responding to this comment. Just because a game doesn't hit the precious 8+ or it's a game you don't like.. doesn't make it shovelware.
@kohox
mmkay bud, the way Netflix makes its money isn't so simple. There are times where they have to be in billions of dollars in debt to pump out all that content, but then they go and grab 7+ million subs in a single quarter...

@Rachel
So you're saying MS has so much influence that both the gaming giants Sony and Nintendo couldn't have fought back on it?
Are we also going to blame PSNow for creating subscription based gaming on consoles since it was the first and clearly influenced the likes of GamePass and EA Access?
