I would also add that there were no negative comments because most mainstream media reports were from "tech enthusiast" not people necessarily informed about video game tech, just as that comment from The Sun remarks "glorious" footage of Forza 5 even though it was all CG. They were just going through the ropes as advertorialists.
Four things Nintendo could change to better the Wii U:
Let Microsoft do their E3 conference before doing another Direct Connect.
Let Microsoft keep doing PR while releasing good games.
Let Microsoft public explore their "policies" on used games while simply saying "Yes, Wii can".
Let Microsoft release the TV1 while unleashing AAA first-party exclusives for Wii U.

You know what's also crazy? With Steam you don't even have to install games anymore...it automatically does it while the games download and even if you upgrade you can still play your old games...unlike the XB1.
No Sony doesn't have to have a great E3, they just need to show a few more games, a price point and the console itself. That's it. They've got it in the bag.

I love what Sony is doing with the games, but no lie, that XB1 controller looks so freaking sexy that if it were a model it would tough for people to walk into the room without making a mess in their pants...or on the floor.
