Why would you want something that takes away ALL your consumer rights?

Seriously?

Has anyone yet to say what the benefit is of having fewer options to trade/sell games? For not being able to borrow from friends without using their XBL Gold account? For having to keep Kinect connected all the time to use the XB1?

I mean, what idiot really thinks it's better that we're moving toward a corporate controlled technocracy? It's like livi...

As opposed to waiting until DRM hits consoles like a ton of bricks and then nothing can be done about it?

HECK NO!

Microsoft is actually getting it pretty easy and hopefully gamers keep the pressure on up to and past E3 to ensure that these draconian measures aren't put into place.

There is nothing of benefit for the consumer having Kinect always on; there's nothing benefiting consumers with mandatory 24 hour check-ins or not being ab...

Nice sentiment but why do people keep thinking that Microsoft will change prices once they get MORE control of the market?

When was the last time they had a sale on the GFWL store?

Actually, there is no haze.

PC digital distributors are supposed to offer facilitation of game resales (presumably similar to what MS is doing with their Azure Cloud service).

The VZBV have been on digital distributors about this but it's something that has to be settled in court.

Basically, if Microsoft goes through with this the only way to stop them would be in court. And I hate to say it, but even with a class action lawsuit it would...

@Foolsjoker

Most of the time N4G is right. And if there's a pressing issue usually it's highlighted on N4G or Reddit or both.

I, too, no longer visit GameSpot or IGN because they're just no longer about the gamers...it's all about corporate interest.

I don't think they'll learn anything, except to keep their mouth shut next time.

I also don't think these policies will completely disappear from the XB1...they'll package up a nice set of AAA "Dudebro" games at E3 and get all the salivating fanboys back in line. They'll throw out a few lines about having gamer concerns at heart, etc,. etc.

They'll send shills to sites like this and GameFaqs, NeoGaf, etc., to keep up spin-pos...

@Majin-Vegeta

You can't get Sega back in the race, they had Sonic throw all their money on back-alley blow.

They're cash strapped now.

Obviously not in stock at Amazon UK...thanks to Microsoft.

You don't mind the Kinect always listening, the 24 hour mandatory check-in or not being able to lend out or borrow games anymore? Some Xb1 exclusives would make you forget about those anti-consumer things?

lol, no wonder there was so much hate and vitriol after the feedback. Nearly 10 million core gamers tuning in for disappointment.

Bravo Microsoft, you just might win "Worst Company in America" in 2014 if you follow through with all the stuff you have in store for gamers.

This. Bubbles+

This article is false.

The XB1 will drive massive sales toward the Wii U when people blindly buy into and find out they can't play games offline regularly; that there are mandatory check-ins every 24 hours, and that they can't lend games to friends without giving out their XBL account info.

You don't have to worry about crap like that on Wii U, and while I first thought Nintendo was doomed this gen, I think they'...

Just like to point out that no where in the article is there a quote from Microsoft that says you can turn the camera off and still make full use of the Xbox One.

All the other interviews say that if the K2 is disabled then so is the XB1.

Germany is still peeved over that whole anti-privacy thing involving Kinect, and they should be.

Who knew the unveiling of Microsoft's new console would be so economically prolific for the Nintendo Wii U?

Microsoft: Selling Wii U's since May 21st, 2013.

@wishingW3L

No this is good news for gamers, man. Can you imagine how terrible this would have been finding out about this AFTER the console launched?

When you think about it, had Kotaku never captured this quote from Harrison we would have gone into E3 never knowing about this and I'm pretty sure Microsoft's intention was to travel all the way to November keeping this as underwraps as possible.

Cat's out of the bag and a lot of...

Yep...

Recently re-watched this turd and I loved every bit of this cyber-punk adventure film.

All I read is how much everyone hated working on this film but it's a classic of stinky proportions. I love it!

MCVUK has received confirmation from several sources saying that the patent has been applied and implemented into Kinect 2.0, also known as Masturbator Watcher 5000.

You think he's a shill?

I always thought they were smooth talkers to inconspicuously persuade opinions without blatantly outing themselves.

If SMGP is a shill it would be the equivalent of a thief wearing a glow-in-the-dark banana suit and trying to break into a house using the front door and the doorbell.
