Gears of War 3 was pirated more than a million times on the Xbox 360. That's one million extra copies that didn't move off retailer shelves. That costs distribution money.

Did Epic pull out of supporting Microsoft or the Xbox 360?

360 games are usually leaked an entire month before retail release. All the big games. This has been happening for years.

If the 360 can survive then Nintendo can survive...not to mention the Big 'N...

Dang, those are some titanic...magic effects. Some of the biggest I've ever seen in a game like this. Glorious to behold...indeed.

Some already came.

It's running on the same tech that powered GTA IV and Max Payne 3, it's even using Max Payne 3's weapon models, bullet dynamics and character reaction physics from Euphoria.

IGN would be pretty stupid to say it's like SR3 when GTA V is running on MP3's weapon physics base, which in turn was running on a modified version of the GTA IV Euphoria base.

First few comments seem to be from viral marketers. Nice to know how publishers and gaming press they pimp are keeping the hype train running like a well-oiled machine.

Keep it up guys, I at least am made well aware of what products to avoid. ;)

@Mogwai

it won't look like that on current-gen. It's like trying to get iCEnhancer to run on your Xbox 360...not gonna happen.

360/PS3 don't have the shader tech to pull off that look with that kind of fidelity. The images are from the devkits/PC build.

I can't believe seven years into this generation and people still think that the 360/PS3 are supercomputers of some sort that can defy the laws of technology.

I wholeheartedly agree.

IGN and gaming journalists are to blame, especially GameInformer who had knew months in advance that the game wasn't what was shown in the demo and decided to stay completely silent about the matter.

Worse yet, gaming media is now jumping to the defense of Gearbox and Sega after consumers got screwed over.

I'm honestly curious, can IGN, Gameinformer and the other big media blocks suck any more balls than they...

You can't get a refund on digitally distributed games.

And what happens when people buy games on sale but don't install them right away? A lot of people buy stuff during Steam/GOG/GMG sales and let them sit until they're ready to play them, far exceeding the 30 day return policy (to which that policy doesn't actually exist for digital games).

The customer shouldn't have to bend over backwards for a product they bought expecting to work. O...

Ugh, I can't believe I'm wasting time on this but I suspect you may be young, so I'll forego the technical aspects of this whole thing:

The BioShock vertical slice was a demo, insofar that it's a small piece of the game designed for promotional reasons and as a testbed for what the game was supposed to be. Re-read my comment carefully: It was not TECHNICALLY possible to do what was shown in that old footage for today's generation of consoles. The lighting,...

Wow I remember why I stopped coming to N4G....

You don't sue because the final game wasn't like the demo. Just about EVERY game that has a demo is somewhat different in the final version, for a number of reasons.

BioShock Infinite COULD NOT be like its demo because the PS3 and Xbox 360 are too dated for some of those features so they had to scale them back. It's still the same game just modified for the aging console hardware. Concessions like tha...

WTF are people supposed to do then when games like Batman Arkham City or Resident Evil, etc,. launch broke with GFWL and there is no patch to fix it? Seriously? Buy a new PC and try again? Format their entire hard drive and try again?

It's stupid because the only guaranteed working version for some games are the pirated version. Such a sad time we live in. There are people still begging MS and Warner Bros for a patch to fix GFWL, and since there is no fix some people hav...

You're the reason companies like EA continue to prosper.

I always wondered who it was allowing big companies to rape gamers and keep on doing the same thing over and over again.

Thank you for standing up and making it known that companies can purposefully go out of their way to screw you over and you're okay with it.

Gearbox designed a purposed "vertical slice" that would "sell" everyone on the idea and they used...

670 will set you straight for the entire generation unless there's a PC exclusive purposefully designed to max out the latest hardware (i.e,. the original Crysis)

The PS4's APU is on par to this $50 card, so you'll have this card as a gauge to entry-level gaming for next-gen. Anything about that and you're good for all your high-end needs.

@Irishguy95

It was a demo:
http://www.cinemablend.com/...

That was NEVER supposed to be the real game, just a "vertical slice" to win people over at E3 and the devs were given free reign to do what they wanted.

That whole E3 2011 demo COULD NOT and DID NOT run on console hardware at all ...

No, the others made it clear they were target renders.

KZ2 made it explicitly clear IT WAS A TARGET RENDER.

Go back and watch the E3 footage of Aliens: Colonial Marines, they say it's actual gameplay. None of the screenshots were from the game, that demo was not from the game and the promo material was not from the game. They were using content for a product that didn't exist to promote the game.

That's called false advertising. ...

Usually day-1 DLC is designed with the rest of the game but purposefully withheld to make money on it, like Javik from Mass Effect 3, because they KNEW that die-hard fans would drop $10 to play as an extinct race from the game's lore. They could have made that IGN girl day-1 DLC but they opted for a more important character to the game's story and character genealogy.

The argument is usually that day-1 DLC is optional, but seriously what part of a video game isn't...
