Yo dawg, it's a teaser to tease an announcement to announce the game for the full announcement at E3.
Papers, Please is as niche as it gets.
@Hyperbear
Well, yeah I guess we're on the same page then.
You mean "live" gameplay as in devkit + system controller? Well yeah, I hope we do get to see that then.
lol for a minute I thought you meant playing from the actual console. My bad.
They can't show "live" gameplay and they never really have in recent years.
All the big stage demos run from dev kits on high-end PCs. They do this so you don't see frame-stutter, lock-ups or glitches galore.
The system is due out this fall but it's still a huge risk to show live gameplay from an actual system, which is why it's not going to happen for the XB1 or the PS4.
No need for companies to get up on a live st...
marketer for who?
I always thought he (and his several clones) were somewhat neutral
Yes, right on.
You can always count on non-mainstream sites to stick up for the little guy.
Sony reaffirms PS4 won't have DRM like XB1

Seems like all the reviews are about on the same page.
This is one of those games you get later down the road for like $10 out of the bargain bin and then go onto a forum board and say "WTF, why was everyone hating on this game? For $10 this game was awesome."
Sony did recently make it clear they won't have the same kind of DRM as Microsoft, though.
No mandatory online check-ins, no forced DRM checks, no EyeToy watching you bathe and dress, none of that stuff. That's worth something.
Yeah sadly, it seems like a lot of the pro corporate white knights tend to forget that not every gamer out there can afford to pay $60 for every single game, especially when they can buy games for $15, $20, $30 or $40 frequently.
If they thought used games was killing the industry, just wait until everyone who used to buy used games stops doing so after MS puts their mess in place.
Too bad, because they said they won't respond until E3.

Oh nice, we got some members of gaming media batting on behalf of gamers.
Nice. Now if only we could get the heavy hitters to follow suit...
EDIT: I'd also like to add that this is a pretty great article but a few times the author kind of mixes up developers with publishers. A lot of times developers are contracted to do the work under publishers and they don't have much of a say so in how the game turns out because pubs use marketing teams and focus...
So we've had it wrong all these years....
It wasn't Skynet...it was Kinect.
Well played MS.
This.
I don't even care about Halo 5 or whatever.
I'll probably get a PS4/Wii U combo because I don't need Microsoft knowing how often I pick my nose and what I do with my hands and feet while I'm playing a game. If I wanted a camera in my face and a microphone on my butt I would make YouTube videos.
For shame. Terrible way to go on the verge of such a great technological device.
And the troll who disagreed with you deserves to have Kinect 2.0 perform a mandatory 24-hour proctological check-in...for the rest of their life.
Reminds me of this...
Yeah, it might cause a few fanboys to pull a brain muscle.
Open minded about having their rights taken away? Open minded about kinect always having to be on in order to use the XB1?
Open minded about being forced to log-in every 24 hours or you can't use the system features that YOU PAID FOR!
Really? You're willing to to just hand them your home for a few exclusives?
Man, this generation is doomed.
This.
Thank you.
It's like we're in the Twilight Zone or something where the Pro-Corporate White Knights are saying "lol, your rights aren't important...wait for E3"
Like you mentioned, the only thing they can do is downplay policies that have already be in the works. The console comes out this holiday -- which is in November -- and that's only five months away. With production schedules that means anything system re...
lol, and how many other games have seen success thanks to Steam? McPixel? Montas? Miramasa? FTL? Arma 3? Evoland? Papers, Please?
The list goes on.
Let's not forget about the modding community that Steam adopts. Heck, most of all the popular titles currently played on Steam are based on someone else's mod.
This bureaucratic slip-up is all this is and it could happen to anyone. The main thing is that there's no reason to rush as a...
