Yeah Sean Murray and HIDEO KOJIMA... same track record basically, right?
TIL n64 only sold 33 mil... wow. Here I thought it was probably on the higher end of consoles sold.
I'm in the same boat but if I'm being real, most of the games I no longer play would net me a solid 50 cents in trade in. Just isn't worth it. And from time to time something will remind me of an old game and what do ya know? I have it! And then I play it.
What exactly is "Pro" about this? Anyone know? This is what annoys me most about there being a 2nd piece of hardware. Things become muddy.
Nothing's changed, nor will it. I'm willing to bet for every 1 Pro sold, 5 more Slim models are sold. Last Guardian's framerate issues would have been the exact same had Pro never existed, as with other games. Pro exists for the exact reasons Sony says, to give people with 4K an option to play PS4 games at a higher res. It's that cut and dry.
I would hope. Otherwise the dock is a bit massive.
It's been happening all gen, people. This didn't start with the Pro.
Knew this would happen. All gen we've been getting games poorly optimized and the SECOND Pro comes out, people start acting like SUDDENLY base PS4 games aren't running super great and it MUST be a conspiracy. FFS.
Shame it's not an officially licensed Xbox One controller, though.
No need for me to scroll down any further, this comment sums it up nicely.
Going back and looking at a lot of games, I can safely say a lot of it's not that the games are letting us down, it's that we're letting our own collective hype get too high.
I think Activision did the smart (yet safe) thing here with the faithful remasters. They know enough to know a new Crash game would receive a lot of criticism because it's not Sony (ND) doing it. So they're capitalizing on this franchise the best way they can, by just remaking the classic PS1 games that are proven to be beloved by PS gamers.
Jesus those are all PS exclusives huh? There are too many damn games. I DONT WANT TO BE AN ADULT
Except for racing games..... :(
Except the higher up you go in TFLOPS, the lower the % of power increased you see when compared. Percentage wise, the Scorpio will just about be to the Pro what the PS4 is to the XBO currently. In other words, marginal difference. Same applies to bumps in resolution. Right now 900p compared to 1080p is somewhat noticeable but only if you really focus on it. As you go up in resolution the difference will be even less noticeable. 1880p vs. 2140p will be even more difficult to spot the differenc...
Yeah Yeah... in theory he's right but we just aren't going to see that. Not anytime soon anyway. Reality is, just like with PS4 Pro so far, games will all look mostly the same, play the same, etc. Just one will be cable of doing ~4K, with the 1080p version either getting supersampling or higher framerates (or lower in some Pro instances). It's simple but that's what you're going to get with a mid-gen release.
This is EXACTLY why they do it. Consumer and brand confidence. Sell the games, not the box.
What else was actually in this category? Seems like FH3 was the obvious choice, especially in a category that sparse.
I feel the total opposite. I don't see how this won't at least double the sales of the original when it's said and done. RDR2 is going to have so much more buzz around it than RDR did in 2010. RDR lobbed the softball and now RDR2 will knock it into orbit.
I really hate this. This has nothing to do with the Pro. It's not like they had the game running great on OG PS4 and then were like "No, let's make base PS4 version run worse and we'll make the Pro version run well." Come on. I knew this would happen. Of course the Pro is going to be capable of better frame rates. That in NO way means the base PS4 version got the short end of the stick. We've seen poorly optimized games on PS4 all gen. Now suddenly it MUST be the Pro...
